In the 1990s, it was involved within the Freedom and Solidarity Party (ÖDP) under the name "Movement." Later, it parted ways due to disagreements with ÖDP on the European Union, F-type prisons agenda, and the Kurdish issue. Following this separation, it participated in the founding process of the Socialist Democracy Party (SDP). However, agreement could not be reached on the Kurdish issue during the founding process of SDP, leading to another separation. Subsequently, the decision to establish the Labourist Movement Party was made, and it was founded on January 5, 2004.
