R2-45 is a joke by L. Ron Hubbard in his book The Creation of Human Ability, where over 70 processes are described that can be used to free the human spirit from its dependency on the physical universe. These processes are numbered R1-4 to R1-15 and R2-16 to R2-77.

There exist people who try to defame the Church of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard and Scientologists by insisting that "R2-45" is a "process created by L. Ron Hubbard" that was actually meant to incite Scientologists to go and kill people.

The U.S. Army has used .45 calibre guns like the Colt M1911 pistol to shoot and kill people from 1911 till this day and L. Ron Hubbard has been in the US Navy during World War II where he encountered .45 pistols. Hence the reference which was made in jest on several occasions.

L.Ron Hubbard wrote many books, all of which can be acquired in the public domain, e.g. with public bookstores, online bookstores and all of the Scientology organisations. In the course of the years, some people have tampered with the books. In 2007 all Scientology books have been re-issued in the original form as meant by L. Ron Hubbard. Therefore, R2-45 can still be found in the book The Creation of Human Ability even though it has given rise to considerable misinterpretation and attacks and, apparently, still does so, with some people, till this day.
