Age of first recording

[edit]

This says she was 12 - which means the recording must have been before October 1976. Her fan site says 14 - http://www.onecandle.co.uk/discography/sbbvox.html - which would mean after October 78. -- Beardo (talk) 01:21, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do not know the exact answer (as if that mattered), but she was born in 1964, and sang on the Small Faces' album 78 in the Shade released in 1978. That's aged fourteen by simple mathematics (not Wikipedia:Original research). Unless someone can come up with some Wikipedia:Reliable sources for an earlier age, I do not think there is much argument.

Maybe not much argument but plenty of assumption. It's unlikely she would have been 14 at the time of recording as her birthday is so late in the year. Elsewhere on Wikipedia we are told that Jimmy McCullough was only in the band for a few months in 1977 to perform some dates & he also contributed to the recording of this album. Furthermore we are told that early in 1978 McCullough went on to form another band with Kenney Jones, which ties in with reports of the band's demise that year & Jones going on to replace Keith Moon in The Who after the latter's death in September 1978. So if anything the indications are that recording of the album may well have taken place in 1977, therefore Sam may well have performed as young as 12 years old. Without clear evidence a categoric statement shouldn't be made either way. Gwladys24 (talk) 14:12, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sam Brown's health

[edit]

I would like to know something of Sam's health after throat surgery. I send her my best, and of course my love. Sri David aka David Hamilton— Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.16.34.54 (talk) 21:44, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
