Ty Hamilton is an American college football defensive tackle for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Early life

Hamilton attended high school at Pickerington Central. Coming out of high school, Hamilton was rated as a three-star prospect.[1] Hamilton held offers from schools such as Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, West Virginia.[2] Hamilton ultimately committed to play college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes.[3][4]

College career

In Hamilton's first career season in 2021, he tallied 13 tackles with two being for a loss, two sacks, a pass deflection, and a fumble recovery.[5] In week ten of the 2022 season, Hamilton got his first career start versus Northwestern where he had three tackles.[6] Hamilton finished the 2022 season with 19 tackles, with half a tackle being for a loss, half a sack, and a pass deflection.[7] In the 2023 season, Hamilton was named honorable mention all Big Ten.[8]

Personal life

Hamilton is the younger brother of current NFL defensive lineman, DaVon Hamilton.[9][10]
