lots of trivia, lacking in other info
editHey there, for a town of this size it might be important to mention stuff like the longest ice hockey game ever, why not. But more information would be helpful: From when to when exactly was Espanola a ghost town? What shape was it in when it became a POW camp? How were prisoners treated? Was the town fenced in? Are there any remains from this period, maybe in a museum? Any pictures? Answering these questions might make for a nice school project. :) --Poco4 (talk) 06:59, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, pretty common for small towns in Ontario, which tend to be light on the more interesting and significant history, and heavy on recent trivia. I've touched up the article a bit in the past but it needs an overhaul based on real town histories, which do exist, but that I don't have access to and which don't seem to have been digitized. It would likely take someone local to the town to sort this out and generate some real progress. Julius177 (talk) 15:21, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Pronunciation
editHow do you pronounce the town's name? After seeing that the Spanish-language article calls the town "Española", with the tilde, I have to wonder. The pronunciation – especially if not obvious – should always be included in the article. Kelisi (talk) 05:35, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- It's Espanola, with no ñ. Source: me, a 705 local. I don't know of any reliable source that catalogues town name pronunciation, though. 162 etc. (talk) 22:23, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
