Actually there really were reports from retailers of customers murmuring things such as "is it demented" though this didn't mean much; it was such a high-end luxury item that if you were gonna get it you were gonna get it. Daniel Christensen (talk) 03:04, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
- It was supossed to sound like dimension; "the next dimension in sight and sound". Daniel Christensen (talk) 18:19, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I figured that. And "Dimensia" looks fine in print. But when said out loud, the lameness of that marketing decision becomes obvious. :-) [But of course it's not the first time a big corporation made a bone-headed decision, and it won't be the last!] Captain Quirk (talk) 21:09, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah in 1985 they started calling the audio components the "Digital Command Componenet System" they were exactly the same they just took the name Dimensia off of them; they still had the control jack and everything. You should revisit the Dimensia page I just recently rewrote it and added a lot. I didn't realize how badly I had written it and how confusing it was (and may still be) to someone who doesn't know what it is. Daniel Christensen (talk) 19:18, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Floatstick diagram
editHi Captain Quirk,
It's only been 6 years since you pointed out that the floatstick article could do with a diagram, and already one has been provided! Let no one say that Wikipedians are slow to react :-] --Slashme (talk) 22:26, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
- Wow, only six years? Why the rush? :-) Looks great -- that's a huge improvement. Having a diagram like that makes ALL the difference. Now I can easily see how they work. Thanks! Captain Quirk (talk) 08:56, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

Why don’t you allow photos in musician history?
editYou reverted my edits on Harvey Danger and said it’s because you don’t allow photos in the history section. Plenty of other pages have photos in those sections. What makes you think it’s not allowed? I added a discussion to the page’s talk section.Reportersteven (talk) 21:29, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Reportersteven,
- You've got the wrong guy. I didn't revert your edit, and I didn't say "We don't put images in section headers". That was a user named "FlightTime" who did that and said that.
- I can understand the confusion -- the article's revision history page says "(Restored revision 1260990587 by Captain Quirk (talk): We don't put images in section headers)". That makes it look like I said that. But I didn't -- again, that was "FlightTime". So your beef is with him, not me.
- Best wishes, Captain Quirk (talk) 01:10, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- Apologies. Thanks. Reportersteven (talk) 07:19, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
