Teahouse thread archived message on usernamespace other than TP
editIs it possible that I can disable KiranBOT from delivering teahouse archive messages to my talkpage, and rather have them on separate page like User:ExclusiveEditor/Teahouse? Thanks, ExclusiveEditor Notify Me! 05:43, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- @ExclusiveEditor: Hi. Sorry, but currently no, that is not possible. But given the low occurrences of you receiving the archival notification, I think it would be more practical to use an archive bot like Lowercase sigmabot III or ClueBot III, and using {{DNAU}} and manually archiving the notifications to your subpage. —usernamekiran (talk) 12:54, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
IDHT ?
editHi, I read your post on the RRfA, which I agreed with, but had a question: what is IDHT ? I checked the list of Wikipedia abbreviations, and it’s not there ? Thanks. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 00:17, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Mr Serjeant Buzfuz: Hi. in short, WP:IDHT means hearing to, but not listening/following/complying the suggestions by others. —usernamekiran (talk) 06:02, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! Hadn’t come across that before. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 11:29, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

editHello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Question from Vanessa Nomisaghan (13:42, 22 November 2024)
editHey! I’m tryna create an article with my phone, how do edit the ‘quick facts’ content part ? --Vanessa Nomisaghan (talk) 13:42, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Vanessa Nomisaghan: Hello. I couldn't find new pages in your contribution history. But generally, on mobile, you should see a picture of pencil/pen on the right side of section title. Clicking on it will edit that particular section. For general questions like these, you would get better answers from multiple editors at WP:Teahouse. —usernamekiran (talk) 08:44, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
There is a mop reserved in your name
editYou are a remarkable editor in many ways. You would be a good administrator, in my opinion, and appear to be well qualified. You personify an administrator without tools and have gained my support already! |
Hello. I was active as an IP editor for three years during 2016 to 2018. I saw your activity in page move venues, and ANI. I was never active in AFD as there is generally a prejudice against IP there. You showed promise, knowledge and temperament to become an admin. Biggest thing i was impressed by was your communication, followups and cheerful messages to recently inactive editors. I had a few names in my mind whom i thought would become admins. Lot of them have been admins, rest have gone inactive including paleo neonate, rentier and elmidae. I was thinking of coming back but my IP ranges are generally blocked. I had recently posted about that either on teahouse or AN or ANI, can't remember. I am definitely not going to create an account and i don't have much free time either. All you have to do is to increase your activity again — you were already on the right track and now you are an admin on Marathi wikipedia too. Best of luck!

- Thank you. But I am not considering for RfA. Also, even if I thought about it, you forgot about the most important thing: I am low on content creation. Most of edits to mainspace in last 2-3 years have been minor, either reverting vandalism, or gnoming. This would tank almost any RfA. But thanks again for your kind words. (also copied from the talkpage) —usernamekiran (talk) 19:13, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Well, I passed my nightmare of an RfA without much content creation but it was just barely. You might have better luck at administrative elections where the scrutiny is less intense and there are not voting sections where opposing editors can go on and on about what they don't care for in your editing history. You still have questions but removing the voting statements cuts down on the vitriol. By the way, I think you'd make an excellent administrator so I'd encourage you to consider it. You sure have enough editing experience, more than the average RfA candidate. Liz Read! Talk! 02:28, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- hehe. Thank you. This means a lot. It's difficult to gauge one's own contributions. Maybe I might consider running for election, or old-fashioned RfA after all. —usernamekiran (talk) 03:07, 24 November 2024 (UTC)

Good afternoon. I am wondering if I am able to write a bio on myself? Technically one might argue there is a conflict of interest in publishing on wiki as obviously I have a direct interest in the content and what I would like it to cover, but in this case it will be solely to ensure that browser searches for my name find a home with short and relevant information about me. Specifically, I am a debut author of historical fiction whose two novels will be published in 2025, and it's important for me readers have a place to source a bio about me. Advice? --LuigiAK (talk) 11:53, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

Question from Ateeb Ali Syed (00:12, 28 November 2024)
editThe head office is located in Zurich, with branch operations in Kenya and the United Arab Emirates, and subsidiaries in Canada, Hong Kong SAR, Pakistan, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. The bank also has representative offices in Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong SAR, Pakistan, and Türkiye. As of 31 December 2023, the bank employed a total of 7,629 people [5] in 559 offices. Is this correct way to add this information, I wrote it being quite neutral, and gave the necesery reference, if not what could I do to alternatively? --Ateeb Ali Syed (talk) 00:12, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
