Needed some help with Tamil
Hi Rsrikanth05, I am working on the Nayanars articles. Needed some help with reading the Tamil in images I found from Tamil wikipedia. The names of the saints are given under them. Though all are not visible (left ones are blurred), could you please write their English names from right to left in the captions of the gallery. Thanks in advance. --Redtigerxyz Talk 10:18, 29 December 2014 (UTC)

In Nayanars1.jpg, L-R is the first 9. Nayanars2 is a continuation. The last one is Chandeshvara preceded by Tiru Kurippu Thonda. Nayanars3 is a bit confusing. The last one is Manikkavacakar and the one to the left is not on the list. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 18:05, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Rsrikanth05. Removing first 2 images. I have uploaded cropped images from the 2 images in respective Nayanar articles. Can you read the second last name in 3rd img and if you could give me the names in the other images. Thanks again. --Redtigerxyz Talk 14:10, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Noted your reversion of Ickx at Le Mans database (page is on my watchlist as it's one I've worked on recently). I was wondering what the reason for that was... just curious/seeking information. Thanks. Regards, Eagleash (talk) 16:07, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi @Eagleash:, I'm sorry if my revert was wrong. It looked like a spam link to me and hence I reverted it [assuming good faith]. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:40, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, No problem. It's one of those links where it's "useful" up to a point as it confirms info. but doesn't add much to the article as it already has all the results in a separate table. I'll not put it back in, but I suppose the editor that added it may do so. :P Thanks for response. Regards, Eagleash (talk) 16:48, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Easleash: No worries, I've undone my edit for now. Feel free to do what you think is correct. Cheers, and happy editing. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 17:17, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

No Bellyaching on Crimea Annexation Is Needed
Do the nations have their right to self determination? Yes. And there are two cases they execute this right regardless of their state's will. Firstly in case of war, as Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Austia came into being in 1918. Secondly in case of revolution, in Russia of 1917 for examle. If the Ukraine has undergone a revolution, it is a commpletely new state due to establish new relations with all its nations. If it is not a revolution, it's coup d'etat and it's leaders should be treated as criminals.
Remember secession of Croatia and Slovenia from Yugoslavia in 1991 were recognized in the West right away without any consent by Beograd? This case is the third one called execution of double standards.
My point of view is the most neutral. If it is a revolution, Kiev starts from scratch with its national regions to reestablish the relations. What has it done in this direction? If coup d'etat, this junta is criminal. In fact it is a nazi junta, as it has made October 14 the National Army Day after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, Hitler's allies in WWII. Nazi's saluts and insignia are in common use in Kiev. There is a complete blackout of truth on the Ukraine in the West. But the WP should not be based entirely on this blackout, should it? Въ 95.220.178.10 (talk) 16:07, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- @176.195.201.44: I don't care about the west, because I don't come from the west. You're edits are going against consensus, hence I reverted them. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:46, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- What consensus you are talking about, if no truth from the Ukraine penetrates the Western iron curtain? Consensus of ignoramuses? Indians are also mostly under the Western propoganda. Not a single Indian journalist has gone to Donbass for example. Read the Russian WP, if you want to learn the neutral POV. It reflects both Russian and Ukranian POVs, as 83 per cent of all Ukranians read only Russian Internet. Въ 95.220.178.10 (talk) 16:07, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- Mind reading the damn talk page? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:11, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- I've done it already. The article is not only one sided, but foolish from A to Z. Remember Russian soldiers storming the Crimean Supreme Council? Has anyone examined their credentials? No serious reader would continue reading this scrap further on. But I am no Putinist as a matter of fact. Here we can compare all sources and we do it. And you seem to be deprived of this possibility.

- The Ukraine declared itself independent on January 22, 1918. Has it asked for Russian consent? No, it has not. Should it raise any objections, if its mostly Russian national regions follow the suit? Въ 95.220.178.10 (talk) 16:55, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

- What is your mother tongue, dear Rsrikanth05? I know linguistic situation in India and can explain to you the same thing in the Crimea. It is a key to this crisis. We have relatives and friends in the Ukraine and Crimea and can judge not only on mass media reports. Regards, Въ 176.195.200.228 (talk) 08:55, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
My mother tongue DOES NOT matter. You are merely implying that because I come from a certain part of the world I am incapable of understanding certain things. You may please stop responding here. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 09:20, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
- I just wanted to use mother tongue as an illustration. For 93 per cent of the Crimean population Russian is their mother tongue. Donbass is very similar in this respect. Imagine what response banning or discrimination of your mother tongue might spark in your own country. I guess the same. Въ 176.195.140.253 (talk) 14:51, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

Capitol Lake
I have a question as to why my edits were removed from the Capitol Lake wiki page.
I referenced my sources and all the edits were accurate.
Is there a different format I should use.
Thanks
PugetSounder (talk) 00:41, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- @PugetSounder: I undid your edit for two reasons: 1. You have copied text verbatim from sources, which constitutes a copyright violation. 2. Some of the sections, are unencyclopedic. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:40, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
Everything I posted is public information, from documents produced by a Washington State government agency, specifically generated to educate the public.
How does that violate copyright law?
Is wikipedia supposed to educate people about complex subjects?
What is your definition of "encyclopedic"
Thanks
PugetSounder (talk) 04:37, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- It is not my definition, but rather one genereated by the community. If you are using a govt document that was 'generated to educate the public', do remember that it could fail the Neutral POV policy. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 12:17, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. I am reviewing the Neutral POV policy now. So far the edits I made appear to meet the policy. I will continue to review and adjust the post as needed.

Seeking your help to translate from English
Hello my fellow Wikipedian,
Thanks for taking your time off to help hapless Wikipedians and otherwise stucked-up articles find their way to the forefront of other non-English speaking readers. I would hope that I have approached you the right way.

I have recently launched a new downloads for beta testers that contains nightly builds of huggle, eg. versions that are built every day from our master branch and contains latest huggle. These builds are currently provided only for Windows and Ubuntu. You can find them here: http://huggle.wmflabs.org/builds/
Please keep in mind that these don't have any automatic updates and if you download and start using nightly build, you will need to update it yourself! So don't get yourself to running old version, it's possible to install both stable and nightly huggle, which is what I suggest.
Keep the bug reports coming to phabricator: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/create/?projects=Huggle Many thanks! Petrb (talk) 09:52, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 29
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Dhone, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tirupathi. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

GA Cup - The Finals
GA Cup competitors and observers: Get ready, we're about to move into the finals of the inaugural GA Cup! Not nearly as important as another competition taking place this weekend, but significant none the less. No deflated footballs here, though! Thursday saw the end of Round 4. Out of the 8 contestants in the semi-finals, 5 have moved to the finals. The semi-finals continued to be very competitive. The highest scorer overall was Ritchie333 from Pool B, with an impressive 488 points and a total of 36 articles reviewed, the most of any competitor; close behind was Jaguar (last round's wildcard), with 477 points and 29 reviews. At times, the competition between them was a real horse-race, and exciting for the judges to witness. Both Ritchie333 and Jaguar have moved onto the finals. In Pool A, Good888 with 294 points, and Wizardman with 179 also won slots in the final. 3family6 with 285 points, won the wildcard slot. We also had one withdrawal, due to outside-of-Wikipedia priorities. Congrats to all! Although there were just 8 competitors, more reviews were conducted this round than in any other round—148, which demonstrates the commitment and enthusiasm of our participants. The most successful competitors, like in all previous rounds, reviewed articles that languished in the queue at GAC for at least five months (worth 18 points). The Boat Race articles were popular review choices again, with almost 20% of the articles reviewed this month. In other news, we received another report from GA statistics page maintainer User:AmericanLemming. See here [1] for his take on the effect the GA Cup has had on Good Article reviews. He believes that we've made a real difference. AmericanLemming says: "As you can see, ...the GA Cup has done wonders when it comes to getting the oldest nominations reviewed much sooner thanks to the system whereby you get the most points for reviewing the oldest articles." Everyone involved with this competition, especially the competitors, should be very proud of what we've been able to accomplish! The Final will start on February 1 at 0:00:01 UTC and end on February 26 at 23:59:59 UTC with a winner being crowned. Information about the Final can be found here. Good luck to all our finalists! Cheers from Dom497, TheQ Editor and Figureskatingfan. To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletters, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. If you are a participant still competing, you will be on the mailing list no matter what as this is the easiest way to communicate between all participants.
