War 2 is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. It is a sequel to War (2019) and is the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani.[1]
War 2 is set to be theatrically released worldwide on 14 August 2025, coinciding with the Indian Independence Day.[2]

Development
On 4 April 2023, Yash Raj Films press released that Ayan Mukerji is set to direct the next installment of YRF Spy Universe and War series replacing Siddharth Anand.[1] On 6 April 2023, Yash Raj Films press released that N. T. Rama Rao Jr. is joining the film and Hrithik Roshan is set to reprise his role as Kabir Dhaliwal.[3] On 16 June 2023, Yash Raj Films announced to press that Kiara Advani is also joining the cast of War 2.[4] Benjamin Jasper will be the cinematographer of War 2.
Filming
The first schedule of War 2 took place in Spain for 12 days with director Ayan Mukerji and the stunt doubles of NTR, Hrithik Roshan because of Devara - I and Fighter schedules in Hyderabad, Mumbai.[5]
Release
War 2 is scheduled for a theatrical release on 14 August 2025.[2]
