What if - the original Inspector Morse was remade with Shaun Evans
Shaun Evans is now 45, so older than John Thaw had been when he first played Morse in the eponymous TV series. Of course, Shaun looks much younger than Thaw did at the time, so let’s assume any remake will not happen for at least another 5 years.
But for the sake of argument, let’s imagine at least the 13 original novels by Colin Dexter are remade as TV movies between maybe 2030 and 2035. What would the cast look like?
“Morse is shacked up with me at the minute. Hopefully we’ll come out of it after a year with enough saved up to put down for a flat each. Provided we don’t kill one another first.”
Whenever Morse sees a beautiful woman, even when it’s not part of the plot, there’s a subtle acknowledgment in his eyes where he’s a little flustered. Love that.
Morse got too close to realising his bisexuality in Endeavour and that’s why Jakes had to leave, its why Nick Wilding and Morse had to get drugged and its why finally Ludo had to happen in order to traumatise Morse into never having feelings for a man again
