about

On this one we are borrowing some of the musical vocabulary of Miracle Legion, Echo & the Bunnymen, IRS-era R.E.M., and the soundtrack of The Adventures of Pete & Pete - formative music that is probably a little bit in everything that we do, but explored much more directly and intentionally here.

Thank you for listening.

lyrics

I know just how it looks
The toothpaste smiling psychos
Bent through the eye of the party photographer
In front of thirty ghosts
Silent as an assassin
Akashic record spinning on and on

I know just how it looks
To ships passing at a distance
Beyond the grace of god and everyone
In trouble in the beetroot fields
You're taking favors
So familiar and so sickening

Heart on the scale
Where does it stop
Or does it stop?
Try and you will not fail
But lose the blood

Across my trembling hands
Glancing only
And then it's gone
Across the shifting sands
I am not your mirror
I am the only
I come out of the painting

The blood
It's all I ever wanted
The blood
Can't keep it in
The blood
Can't get a handle or a lid on it
Above it by a single fraying thread
