episko is a free, open-source desktop app for macOS and Windows that runs and supervises many Claude Code sessions at the same time. Each agent gets its own terminal, and episko shows what every one of them is doing — status, model, context use, cost, and the tool it is running right now — in a single view.

How many Claude Code sessions can episko run at once?

There is no fixed limit in episko itself. Each session is a separate Claude Code process in its own PTY, so the practical ceiling is your machine's resources and your Anthropic usage limits. episko tracks both your 5-hour and weekly limits and forecasts when you will run out.

Does episko replace Claude Code?

No. episko launches and supervises the real Claude Code CLI, which must already be installed and on your PATH. Every session is a genuine, interactive Claude Code terminal you can type into — not a recording or a reimplementation.

Can episko run my project's build and test scripts?

Yes. episko runs the task definitions your project already ships — VS Code tasks and launch configs, a justfile, package.json scripts, Taskfile, mise, a Makefile, Cargo — in the same terminal panes as the agents, from a Run picker or the command palette. A task run behaves like a session: its exit code becomes its status, so a failed build raises the same attention badge an agent would.

Yes. episko is free and open source under the MIT licence. The source is at github.com/respeak-io/episko. You still need your own Claude Code access from Anthropic.

Does episko send my data anywhere?

No. episko runs entirely on your machine and stores its state locally. Telemetry from each Claude Code session is posted to a localhost server inside the app; nothing is sent to Respeak or any third party.

Which platforms does episko support?

macOS (Apple silicon) and Windows 10 and 11. macOS supports every terminal engine — embedded, Ghostty, Terminal.app and iTerm2 — while Windows currently supports the embedded terminal. Linux is not yet packaged.

Is episko made by Anthropic?

No. episko is an independent open-source project by Respeak GmbH in Karlsruhe, Germany. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by Anthropic. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC.
