about

I drew on source material from “Floating City” to craft these tracks, using the stereo vocal, cello, guitar, and bass to build fresh pieces—brand-new works with their own identity. You might wonder why I chose the mixed tracks over the premixed ones. Simply put, the mixed tracks let me generate new material more effortlessly, and they sounded better to my ear. To transform the originals, I employed a range of techniques: repitching, layering the newly repitched elements, and deeply processing the audio with methods like spectral filtering and granular looping. The result is a set of pieces that reimagine the source while celebrating its spirit.
