Today (2/23/14) marks the 69th anniversary of the flag raising at Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima, a defining moment for World War II and the Marine Corps. Earlier this month eight Iwo Jima veterans gathered at the National Museum of the Marine Corps to share memories and commemorate this historic event.
