Learn the back stitch trellis stitch - an excellent fill stitch for hand embroidery projects.
I’m always on the look out for stitches to use as a fill for shapes and spaces in my designs. Sometimes a space is just too large to use a satin stitch effectively. And sometimes I want a little bit of texture or interest instead anyway! The backstitch trellis is an excellent one - and is super easy to do. You can use just one color for a simple trellis, or add a different shade to achieve a sort of shadowed effect. Check out my other stitch tutorials. I also have an Etsy shop that has beginner friendly modern hand embroidery patterns and kits available for those who want to try this craft!
