Stavanger Travel Tips

The area around Stavanger offers varied, wild and iconic nature experiences. Preikestolen (the Pulpit Rock), one of Norway’s most famous attractions, is located only an hour from the city centre. At the other end of the Lysefjord is the Kjerag bolt. Wedged in a mountain crevice 1 km (3280 ft) above the fjord, it offers a gravity defying photo opportunity. Of course the Lysefjord, which is Norway’s southernmost fjord, can also be explored from a boat.
