This winsome puppy has both heart and style, and is sure to become a faithful companion. He is a part of my series entitled "Animal Urbanity," fifteen whimsical creatures painted in acrylic paints and inks on large canvasses, ranging in size from 30"x40" to 20"x20". These paintings were done using a method called intuitive painting, often having 7 to 10 layers of mark making before I have any specific focus for what the piece will become, letting the subject present itself to me from the depths of the layers. I paint with a wide variety of tools in addition to traditional brushes, experimenting with anything I can dip into paint to make a unique mark: buttons, lego's, doilies, wooden skewers, screws, combs, credit cards, mesh, sliced limes, cardboard tubes, pine cones, potatoes, seed pods
