This corn dolly was made by Alec Coker. It is known as an ‘Essex Terret’ and resembles part of a horse’s harness. It consists of a spirally woven neck with bunches of corn ears at either end. Hanging from the neck are three spirally woven bell-shaped structures, inside which hangs a small lantern. (MERL/86/121)
