Karst 05:57
Eroding My body I'm aging I'm dying I am falling into the earth Falling under I am buried beneath the rock No air Life is madness under the earth Down in the dark Taste the chalk inside my mouth Dry and dead Eroding My body I'm aging I'm dying I am falling into the earth Falling under I buried beneath the rock No air Falling into the earth I’m dead
2.
You told me You hate me No trial All ecstasy My evil Will save me New lovers No temperance My body Has changed me
3.
Broken compass, Shows the way Rapids recede Corrupted Everything I own is ash The air reeks of smoke Soot stains my cheeks Scarring my face Lead in the air Bile in lungs Everything I own is gone The halls sit empty Exhausted directionless I must clean
4.
Basalt 06:15
Under the earth Stone buried still I am stone I am rock I am stone I am rock We will become Rock We will become Rock I will watch this place forever I am dust I am sand I am dust I am sand We will become Rock We will become Rock Flood Flood Rock Flood Flood Rock
5.
Silt 04:41
In this condition I am in anguish Feeling the earth slip through my fingers Preserved without us Nothing The earth had told me I'm on the precipice And now the one thing, the only way through this Will leave me broken To grasp my pleasure The path must open But I have lost my own reflection In rising waters Nothing The dirt beneath my feet Will lead me to my death The soil in my mouth Will save rotting flesh I am growing into death I am growing into death

In Mirrors 12:08
The road is fading and Forgotten places that I've been I knew her once out in the fog Knew her, and now she's gone Her lunar eyes dilating The solar fire is fading The leaves are dead and dry Our earth so cold will die Perceive Her gaze In mirrors I run away And now I'm far from home Forgotten who I've known I don't know where I'm from Lost in unending fog When time has passed So many lives Pulled into darkness Face to the light The passage narrows My balance falters The day is ending No hope of resting Perceive Her gaze In mirrors I run away My anguish, a light in the darkness Her bones lie scattered behind me My purpose is ahead My purpose is ahead I saw her there before Emotions lost to me And when the grass and bitter weeds Have wilted now I know for sure I will open My eyes to death In the morning light I'll see her face Her eyes Her eyes reach out from darkness When time has passed So many lives Pulled into darkness Face to the light And now I'm far from home Forgot who I have known I don't know where I am from Lost in unending fog And she is at home in my tears And she is at home in my tears My eyes held tight My eyes held tight My eyes held tight My eyes held tight

about

A lonely string is plucked, soft sepulcher seems to bleed through the speakers, before a dissonant miasma creeps forward penetrating ears, mind and bone. Eudaemon have found you. Many bands discover their truth in dissonant and subversive black metal, plenty more have taken to the blending, bending and rending of multiple genres. Eudaemon have skirted both, while honoring them all at once, also invoking the spirit of bands like City of Caterpillar, Krallice, and even On the Might of Princes. The shattered porcelain howls and unconquerable wall of sound ebb and flow, through inspired solo, contemplative interlude, and frenzied melodic exchange, explicitly illustrating the band’s sound as an anchor to their namesake, both a nod to and inversion of the holy higher self.
Members have found their inspiration across the heavy music spectrum, citing influences that include Gojira, Senza, and Killswitch Engage, to give a small taste of the band’s collective musical palette. Tracks like the blistering “Karst” exemplify the band’s intensity; “Empty Hallway” showcases biting lyricism, which guitarist and vocalist Andie Landsem describes as “processing negative emotions I'm feeling as a shout into the void and falling into the cathartic release of emotions in intense music.” These are merely two tracks of the six that make up Spiritual Anguish, Eudaemon’s debut album. Every element of influence and innovation is on display, all culminating in the final track “In Mirrors,” a genetic footprint of everything the band embodies and does so well. An almost folk-like opening soon plunges into soulful and complex riffing mixed with immensely heavy sections, trading off classic metal singing passages that would’ve made James Dio crease a grin, before melodically strutting into massive and cacophonic sections of black metal fused with thrash, hardcore and punk.
Capturing a haunting sonic landscape, unafraid of clean rhythms and sung melodies, Eudaemon takes to the task with enough deftness and skill that you can’t help but wonder how their contemporaries feel being left in the dust. It would be unsurprising to find they can only experience the awe of everything that this burgeoning and hungry young band have to offer.

We are eternally grateful to all who have helped us along this journey and supported us throughout the last two years, including but not limited to Katherine Shane, Mark Woodhouse, Jack Butch & Chang Family, Daisy Swimmer, Elena Bittner, Adam Tucker, Anna Landsem, Nipinet Landsem, Medbh Mcnamara, Melvin Lester Brown, Aly Eleanor, Jenn Coulter, Maru Fawkes, Bariann Tuite, Chris (Riff Merchant)
