Happy Thursday, sweet friends. I know most of you are experiencing icy cold weather! Our weather forecasters are saying that beginning early Friday morning we could have between 2-3 inches of snow and then possibly freezing rain. (The forecast changes every few hours!) Living in the South, everyone panics when the white stuff is mentioned. All the bread and milk will disappear off the shelves immediately. I have never understood what it is about bread and milk? I need more than these items if I am going to be snowed in! While difficult weather is often only an inconvenience, we all know sometimes there can be dangerous and devastating events in nature. We pray for the many in California who are currently being impacted by raging wildfires, a very tragic and serious situation!
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.””
Joshua 1:9 (ESV)

Number 1 ~ Celebrating Spring’s Arrival & Easter’s Blessings
With a backdrop of RM’s bright green carpet of rye grass and the budding of our Snowball Viburnum, the passing of winter promises new life bursting out in our Appalachian Foothills!
Easter blessings surround the celebration of the resurrection of Christ, new life that is eternal!
Number 2 ~ The Splendors of Autumn
Oh the splendors of autumn…it is my favorite season and it awakens all my senses!
A beloved French tapestry with sweet memories is the backdrop for an autumn table in the garden!
Number 3 ~ A Pink and White Tea Table
A pink and white tablesetting speaks of springtime! I planned this girls’ tea table for my granddaughters!
Our picnic table nestled next to the woodlands was complimented by the trees which had all leafed out in their pretty shades of spring green!
Number 4 ~ Valentine’s Day – a Celebration of Love
Valentine’s Day is such a sweet treat tucked into the middle of winter.
I have saved years of Valentine cards we have given each other. We enjoy re-reading them on the special day!
Number 5 ~ Peonies & Other Garden Happenings
I was thrilled that a garden post made the top ten!
Peonies are a much loved flower and their season is short lived. Is there anyone who doesn’t love peonies? If so, I haven’t met them.
Number 6 ~ Say Hello to Summer With A Garden Tablescape
A love of mixing patterns was definitely front and center on this garden table!
To welcome summer, Tracy Porter ‘Artesian Road’ peacock bowl, dinner and salad plates mix well with a vintage April Cornell tablecloth!
Number 7 ~ Lessons From My Mother
I am most thankful that you, my sweet readers, seem to enjoy the stories of my beloved Mother!
Mother made this beautiful ceramic piece in 1980 and this was the first time I had shared it! I keep it in an enclosed cabinet along with other keepsakes and books.
Number 8 ~ Warming Hearts With a Winter Tea
I take joy in seeing the beautiful dancing light and shadows across the table during the winter months, perfect to enjoy a cup of tea!
This gorgeous embroidered table square was purchased at The Great Hall Market in Budapest. The underside is as pretty as the top! Can you believe I limited myself to one purchase at this famous market?!
Number 9 ~ It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
There are many Christmas songs that I play on repeat each year. One that I love is Andy Williams singing “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”.
“It’s the hap-happiest season of all” as birthdays and holiday meals center around our dining room table. I am always looking for new ways to use what I have collected through all our years of marriage. A pair of angels made their first visit to the table after moving all around the house for more than twenty years.
Number 10 ~ Simple + Southern Sunday No. 502
Butch (aka Renaissance Man) took over writing Simple Southern Sunday a few years ago. He is a rugged outdoorsman who loves being outside with nature and enjoying all of God’s beautiful creation. So many of you follow each Sunday as he takes you to places that are often difficult to even find. Many hikes are along wildlife preserve trails. How many of you had ever seen a button bush? I certainly had never seen one, but their blooms are beautiful and unique!
Butch is the primary photographer of the Sunday post, but occasionally I share a photo I want him to use…like this garden image. If you haven’t ventured on one of his hikes, I encourage you to give it a try. You can sit comfortably at home and not deal with weather, and no worries about insect bites ! That’s a win-win!
Thank you to our readers for all of your visits and gracious comments. We are very grateful that you are a part of our Everyday Living!

I loved reviewing your top 10, Pam! Seeing the spring and fall tables in that order follows my love of the seasons’ order too. Then I found myself dive deeper into the garden post (loved). beautiful tables, beautiful garden shots, and I was personally happy to see a Simple Southern Sunday make the top 10. I follow Butch’s posts enthusiastically!
Great recap, and hopefully a great year to come. The fires of CA, the devastation still in western NC – both make a little ice and snow seem insignificant, don’t they?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Rita. We appreciate all of your visits and encouraging comments. Fires and flooding have brought unbelievable devastation in a short time. Praying for all!
Alice Genzlinger says
I don’t have a favorite but I must say the beautiful green grass in number one is a sign of my favorite time of the year. AC table cloths always make we want to shop but the tapestry is the must beautiful table cloth ever. 2024 is gone and 2025 is beginning with disaster in Ca. NC is still trying to recover in cold weather and it looks like snow there tomorrow or Saturday. Hope you get enough for the grands to enjoy sledding. Stay safe.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Alice. I know living in your cold climate, spring is always a welcomed change! We have a winter storm warning after midnight tonight. California’s fires are horrific. Floods and fires have devastated so many these past few months🙏🏻🙏🏻
Mary says
Good morning Pam, What a fun recap and look back at your top posts. I always love having a virtual seat at your table or enjoying a stroll in your garden! We’re under a winter storm watch for tomorrow afternoon into Saturday. I wouldn’t mind some snow, but freezing rain that causes power outages is not my cup of tea. 😊 As Rita said, it’s a minor thing compared to the raging fires in Southern CA and the flood ravaged areas of the NC mountains. Prayers for all who are fleeing their homes and in harm’s way from the fires. 🙏
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Mary. We have a winter storm warning after midnight tonight. We are supposed to start with snow and could change over to freezing rain. I am like you, snow is nice to see occasionally, freezing rain is never good! The fires are truly apocalyptic. Praying 🙏🏻
Kris @ Junk Chic Cottage says
HiPam,
I love all your beautiful tables. Going through the review gives me hope that we here in the midwest will see Spring and Summer again. It is bitter cold and snowy for us. I know you guys are not use to that kind of weather. Not sure what Mother Nature is up to. Praying for all of those in California. That is just devastating. Enjoy the rest of the week. Stay warm and cozy. Hugs. Kris
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Kris. Yes, spring will come again. Stay warm and safe! Yes praying for all in California impacted by the horrific fires.
Hugs,
Pam

It is always fun to see what was most popular, and this was a great look back at 2024 Pam! I have to say, the Summer Garden Table is a favorite, I love the pattern mix and the peacock bowl, so pretty! Butch makes us appreciate the beauty of Mother Nature’s work, big and small, every Sunday and it’s always a treat to visit you both on Everyday Living! Stay safe and warm this weekend, they’ve closed our schools so we will see what happens! ❄️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Jenna. You be safe and warm and we will see how this develops!
Clara says
The top ten are all so beautiful and informative. The angels on the Christmas table are absolutely gorgeous! The 12 days of Christmas tablecloth is stunning! I did enjoy reviewing the top 10. I am happy to see SSS made it as well as it is something I look forward to each week as well. I always learn things from SSS. Stay safe and warm these next few days. We’re forecast for 4-6 inches of snow beginning tonight. Clara❤️
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you sweet Clara. Be safe and stay warm. We are supposed to have snow in the morning❤️

I love your review. I remember so very many of these, Pam. I couldn’t possibly pick a table that’s a favorite — too many! But I will say April Cornell landed a good one when she got you in her corner!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Your comments are so sweet. Thank you Jeanie!

Knowing that your delightful “Top 10” awaited me, I persevered through an especially trying day. This evening I am treating myself to a “stroll” through your post. You and your Renaissance Man bring continued joy to many. Thank you for the many blessings found in your shared hearts for Everyday Living.

Roxanne Bernard says
Pam, all of your beautiful posts are 10s in my book! Beautiful blooms and green grass are especially beautiful this time of year. And I learn something new every week from Butch’s walks. My heart breaks for the people of Los Angeles. I cannot imagine being caught in that nightmare inferno. And prayers continue for NC in this frigid weather.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Roxanne. You have followed for a very long time and we are grateful! It is heartbreaking to see all of those communities in Los Angeles devastated. Fires and floods must be some of the most terrifying of disasters. I think about all of those in NC still with no homes in this weather. All heartbreaking!
Sarah Anderson says
What a great review and great fun to look back at these gorgeous tables and flowers from 2024. Your peonies!!! Cold here but dodged the ice so far. Tomorrow morning is still possible. It’s been raining here all afternoon and still coming down. Above freezing now, but midnight is predicted to freeze. That means the roadways will be a mess in the morning.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Sarah! Stay safe and warm, my friend!
Nancy says
What a beautiful review of 2024’s top ten! Each and everyone is nothing but perfect! I am so happy the peonies made it. I loved your peonies post. All of your tables are gorgeous. I love the simplicity of the Winter Tea and the embroidered square from Budapest. I am also thrilled that one of Butch’s Simple Southern Sunday posts made it as well. I always look forward to his strolls. I learn so much.
Thanks for a lovely blog! You both are loved by so many!
Hope you get some snow!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Nancy for your sweet comments, my friend. We both appreciate all of your visits! We did get snow, 3 inches maybe a bit more. It is always fun, since it is rare around here!
Tea With Jennifer says
What a lovely line up of last year’s beautiful posts Pam!
The Californian fires are so tragic, we here in Australia know what it’s like our heart goes out to them.
Butch’s posts are always interesting 😊.
The weather is crazy atm, we were having one of our hot sultry Summers then the rain came bringing Autumn weather with it & we’re back into our Autumn clothes!
Although, I must admit I enjoy this cooler weather far more than the hot weather. And we desperately needed the rain so I’m one happy gal, lol!
Blessings sweet friend, Jennifer
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Jennifer. Your weather sounds crazy. We still have snow the ground but should be melting by afternoon. So glad you received rain. Blessings sweet friend❤️

Each setting is beautiful, but those Christmas Angels are unforgettable. Looking out at the pristine snow
outlined on our surrounding trees fills me with gratitude and yet begs prayers for those in California who now must overcome the trauma of loss of homes and memorable possessions. So tragic… Joshua 1:9 is such a fitting message to contemplate.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Mary! Praying for all who are undergoing tragic situations. It is so heartbreaking!
Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors says
Pam, I enjoyed looking back at your top posts of 2024. So many beautiful settings to enjoy on this cold winter’s day. We received 7 inches of snow Thursday and Friday. It looks like a winter wonderland with the sun shining today. I’m grateful that we didn’t receive ice. Wishing you a most wonderful weekend, sweet friend! Stay warm!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, sweet friend! Wow, 7 inches is a lot! Be safe!

Thanks Pam for your wonderful top 10. Love them all and of course I love Butch’s contributions on Sundays. I look forward to his photos and knowledge. I especially love your mothers ceramic piece and the memories you have. Love to you my friend. Stay warm and prayers for all, fires, hurricanes or any other natural disaster that brings upheaval.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Kari. It is 20
degrees this morning, with remnants of our snow still on the ground! Happy Sunday, sweet friend!

Thank you, dear one!
Kim says
What a beautiful top 10 here Pam! I love it too that there was one of your gorgeous garden and Butch’s SSS. Your tables are all so pretty and although I can’t choose a favorite, I love love that peacock bowl setting. I’m sorry about your recent weather and we have been warmer here in Calgary some days than you were. The pictures of the Los Angeles fires that we are seeing here are absolutely devastating. Prayers for all impacted and for those in NC still dealing with the flooding and everything else. Stay warm my friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Kim. Your comments are always so sweet and thoughtful. The fires are horrendous, so very sad. We warmed up some today! Enjoy your week, my friend!
