The ambitious follow up to the acclaimed “Napoli Exchange”. This time around EX GENERATION set their focus to the Far East.
Destination: Mumbai, Maharashtra India. The epicentre of Bollywood. After an extensive digging period through rare and eclectic Bollywood Disco records from the 70s and 80s, the pair set out putting together an A-team of studio musicians versed in both Indian Classical and Bollywood, amongst those are award winning vocalists Vinay Sugatha Ramadasan and Anuja Zokarkar. The pair bring lyrical depth informed by millennia of North-Indian classical poetry and melody, where metaphor and imagery intertwine with EX GENERATION’s unapologetic rhythm and production style to form something profound and complex, yet accessible and innately deep.
The result is a spicy masala of disco heaters, cinematic drama, even venturing into new age and acid jazz territory, evoking the intoxicating sights and sounds of India’s cultural heartlands, hedonistic textures and heart-wrenching emotion woven into a vivid sonic tapestry.

Black Sand isn’t just music — it’s an experience. The hypnotic rhythms and shimmering melodies create waves that feel like they pass straight through the soul. It’s both grounding and otherworldly, the kind of track that makes you stop, breathe, and get completely lost in sound. For me, it’s not just a song I listen to — it’s one I feel. SM59ZZZ
Radiant bossa nova melodies overlap with nature sounds and muted electronic percussion on the Brazilian singer-songwriter's "solar album." Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 18, 2023

I love "universe" albums, albums that don't fit in any other context besides the ones laid out for you. Sure, you can still play it in moments of everyday life, but you'll still feel like you are sipping a cold vermouth and nibbling on some olives in a seaside haunt in the end. Edward Rossi
