"The Endless Descent" was inspired by a podcast by physicist Sabine Hossenfelder who talked about time dilation near the powerful forces of a black hole. Each line refers to a physics phenomenon and also mirrors the emotional turmoil of a failing relationship.
lyrics
Gravity's grip slows time to a crawl
On the brink, about to fall
Each second stretches beyond all law
All law
Moments of breaking turn to endless years
Descent eternal, when viewed from here
Red shifted, stretched to the limit
Falling forever
We're in the endless descent
Because we're broken and bent
We want to stop but we can't
We're going down down down
Star-torn bodies, we're pulled apart
Tidal forces tear at our hearts
Past the point of no return, we start
We start
Feel the crushing weight of regret
As time and space begin to break
Can't escape this monster low
Singularity
