What compression dose a 2017 Nissan have

@ monkeypop: Only 2 speeds, I do, however, understand how Nissan can call it revolutionary, it was revolutionary, back in 1932, but of course, the first 2 speed automatic transmissions weren't continuously variable.

I don't really understand how they became slower with cvt. From a technical standpoint I would think they would be quicker with the engine operating at the perfect rpm. When nissan made the switch the sedans with cvt became considerably slower. Maybe the cvt is somehow less efficient?

@ JANLIN: Yeah, that was dumb of Nissan to go with a 2 speed CVT automatic.

I've always been a big nissan fan. One of my favorite cars was a tricked out 4th generation maxima. Unfortunately they have completely ruined their sedans with those crummy transmissions. Id probably be driving a maxima if they still offered a manual. Damn shame.

I rented a 2011 CVT Maxima. Not a fan. Love the engine, hate rhe boring transmission.

The SE-R is in my driveway. :) I believe it's still the fastest sedan Nissan has ever built. Love it!

I drove a nissan with CVT a while back and it was very annoying. Just doesnt sound right or feel right when you floor a car and the engine sits at the same RPM the whole time.

I read some article on CVT a while ago, and honestly some study or something found that people were bothered by a car that always had a constant engine sound when accelerating.

Personally, I like to change my own gears.

CVT makes more sense to me than a finite set of fixed ratios that you have to jerk through manually.

I don't understand why aren't all cars using CVTs? Lack of efficiency or durability? Or elevated cost?

CVT stinks.. nissan needs to throw them to the curb and start offering manuals/regular autos.

the 170hp inline4 2.5l needs 7.7s 0-60mph (96km/h)
the 270hp 3.5 needs 6.3s to 60mph(96km/h) and 7.9s to 70mph(112km/h)..

That 0-100kph time must be wrong. That might be the time for the I4 (2.5)
