These fused glass earrings feature glittery fused glass centers on an orange and red concentric round base. Equinox Glass fused glass circle earrings are made by combining hand cut fusible glass piece to create a one of a kind design. The earwires are made from 22 gauge niobium wire, perfect for those with sensitivities to metal jewelry. This one of a kind fused glass piece was handcrafted with love by me, Alison Slaff Carl, in my home studio in New Jersey. What is fused glass? Glass fusing is a form of glass art where different pieces of glass are melted together (fused) at high heat in a glass kiln. In my fused glass art I hand cut each piece using a scoring tool, running pliers, and a grozer tool. Once I have completed my design, the piece is moved to my kiln where it will stay for the next 12-14 hours to heat and cool slowly, reaching a max temperature of around 1500 degrees Fahrenheit! After firing, I will file down any sharp burrs that may have result in the firing process.
