Grassmere (Green) (C257)
Grassmere was a long lived design produced from the early 1930s through the 1950s.
The name was given as the pattern reflected blades of grass and the village of Grassmere in the Lakes district of North West England
The pattern was in fact a transfer print, long strips of pre printed transfer which were dipped in water to release it from the white backing paper and applied to the white slipped ware, glazed and fired.
