Lost, in a land beyond the snow
Confined inside eternal sorrow
Gaze into the distant past, the memory on the wind
A time of ceaseless battles fought;
The titans of the world brought to their knees
Here we lie abandoned, our curse doomed to survive
Did the cities of eternal light fall to the rising tide
And did the souls who fell, and now cry out from beyond their spectral plane
Give their might for a hollow cause; their grave’s remembrance now betrayed
March through the storm
Forge ever on
Push on, to find the land of ever-snow
Journey on home
Stand together, marching on
Lost brothers in our hearts
Raise the flag for those who fell
And set alight the dark
Destiny lies to the north
And binds us to this fate
Once again we take up arms
Towards the frost-rimmed gates
Once more, we ride to battle
This war eternal for our home
Raise up your swords to the sky
Up high, the tattered banners
Our light, to guide us to the end
The land of snow, still in sight
In death, we’ll find our freedom
In peace, interred below the earth
As fi-re rains from the sky
And at the final hour
Such cost, for nothing truly gained
Trapped far beyond all holy light

A darkness lies and none dare dwell
The haunting trace of blackened spells
An unmarked tomb for fools who dared to tread
But past the terror that they know
Beyond the vale of haunted shadow
An ancient power lies under the snow
When those without hope took their flight
Into the vale’s unending night
The swords biting at their heels met their death
Now echoes haunt the empty shroud
The fear descended as black cloud
An eternally mournful tomb
Far beneath
The ruins of men untold
Withered bones
Of those lost forevermore
And yet for all the tales of dread
The bloodstained myths consumed by death
Beyond the vale lies no twisted horror
For those who fled the knives of cold
Ascended high to halls of old
Immortal, ethereal; a light in the sky
Far beyond
A city ablaze with light
Fallen souls
Protecting the realm of night

A Realm Reborn in Fires of War
Alone with the shadow inside
Forgotten, omitted from time
In mourning, awaiting their day to die
Up high, they look to the sky
The young rider, ensnared in his head
As shadow ascends from the dead
As one, with grief as their shield of might
In flight, bring him back to the light
Hearts rejoice in wonder
Souls will sing, at the union within
A font of endless power
A flame alight; a future so bright
Four to share the burden
Of all that’s been, and all that was lost
But four to rise in power
Relight the torch; and yet they will pay the cost
The young rider, emboldened by light
And the magic now coursing inside
Push on, a flight for the oath he swore
To war, fight forevermore
Now the serpents return to the skies
Bringing hope to lift the black cloud of lies
And the realm shall be reborn in fires of war
As before, an order restored
Stood there on the hillside, bathed in rays of gold
The dragon of old
Once more into battle, as was foretold
Echoes of their wisdom will linger ever on
When all is gone
The dragon and his rider, forever one

Entombed in the Halls of Stone
So when the prince fell dying upon the ground
And those he’d led lay scattered high and low
Now vanquished, ensnared, and cruelly bound
One twist of fate had torn apart all they did know
That once-cool wind they’d felt upon their skin
Replaced by the searing heat of evil’s binding flame
And the pride that those who fought had felt within
Now forgotten along with their name
Far below, beneath the black shadow
Across the night we fled the scourge that forced us from our home
Fear ignite, aflame with starless light
Beyond the reach of mortal hands, but doomed to endless night
Torn from their home of ice and frost,
Thrown into the pitch black dread of night.
Stooped in fear as their minds become lost,
As their eyes forgot the taste of light
And in the dark, chained and enslaved,
What once was holy light turned to blackness
To fall so far, alone and betrayed,
And sinking ever deeper into madness.
Under the mountain, a people surrounded
Lost in the darkened halls alone
Battles were raging, all light was fading
Bowing before the throne
Deep in the darkness; give in to madness
Trapped in the night’s eternal glow
Far from the snow where we made our home
Entombed in the halls of stone
Beyond the starlight, succumbed to the deathblight
Lost in the lands beneath the snow
Memories of lands where I took your hand
Now dying before the throne
Deep in the dark night, far from the moonlight
Stripped of hope, of all I know
Cursing the path, that stole all my heart

On Frostbitten, Grima continue their atmospheric and melodic, snow seared, blistering style of black metal that they have worked not only to achieve but also maintain with excellent consistency. The keyboard elements add a wonderful depth that brings the whole performance together. These guys should be considered one of the best modern black metal acts around right now. 8/10

A one-manned UK project, Nicholas Fry, plays atmo/speed black metal, with more emphasis on the speed aspect in this sophomore album as compared to the debut opus. Amazing melodies are still present throughout the album though. Again a blend of styles but all fit very well to tell a tale or the story of a mystical journey. True that, the cover art by Olga K. is also very eye catchy!!
