about

Whenever I'm invited to a charity compilation I typically will make 3 or 4 tracks for the label to choose from, then usually leave the tracks not selected to sleep on my harddrive. In this case though I love this track (original titled 'Rose(s)') and couldn't just let it sit there gathering digital dust.

It is a track heavily utilising my hydrophone microphones with a mixture of frozen river, bird bath and shore recordings, all layered up in a gentle meditation alongside some live gong work I did outside. It just worked so well and I feel this is such a meditative and calming work, very much of the environment it was recorded in.

The cover art is taken from a winter in Kawaguchiko - a favourite place that holds deep resonance for my wife and I, as well as two dear friends we brought here and secretly let in to our favourite ryokan (traditional Japanese hotel).

Thank you
