Blu-ray Samurai

So, does a human fly (like in the Vincent Price versions) fights an invisible man? That's what I was hoping for going by the title of the second movie. :P
The description seem to indicate a very different movie than what the title always implied. Really intrigued by these. |

So Spiderman wasn't the only western character to get a "Japanization" adaptation. For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, I'll explain it below. But back on topic, I didn't know the Invisible Man got his own Japanization adaptation that pre-dated Toei's Spiderman (1978-1979) and also pre-date Toho's King Kong, and Frankenstein's Monster.
So I take it The Invisible Man in the Japanese adaptation doesn't have a giant robot like Spiderman did Oh yeah and about the Japanese Toei's Spiderman thing. There's a interesting documentary how that came to be on Disney+: If you don't have Disney+, Toy Galaxy's YT channel talked about it (abeit not 100% accurately): So anyway, nice to know Spiderman was not the only given a Japanese adaptation treatment, Invisible Man got the same thing and pre-dated even Spiderman. Very fascinating, and happy to see this getting a US/NA blu-ray release for the first time. Last edited by mdo7; 12-22-2020 at 11:34 PM. Reason: Adding clarity in my statement |

I just found that Daei wasn't the only studio that did a adaptation of The Invisible Man. Toho seem to have done one too under the name, The Invisible Avenger. That one was directed by Motoyoshi Oda (the same guy that directed Godzilla Raid Again, the sequel to the 1954 Japanese original). So nice to know the Invisible Man got multiple "Japanization" adaptation.

But yes, we do have a "Japanization" version of King Kong, and Frankenstein. But no "Japan-ize" Dracula. |

Amazon preorder is up. The cover art only references the first film, with no mention of the second. I came here to verify that it's a two-film set. The product description does say, both films on one disc. So all good, pre-ordered!
