I have Independence Day in hand! Not an import! - Blu-ray Forum

Hey guys,

I just got back from Best Buy and was checking out all the Blu-rays. Before we left I noticed a couple movies on a stock cart, two of them were Independence Day. So of course I snagged it up, and away to the register I went. I scanned through it a little bit, seemed like a bit of the scenes were grainy, so its probably the same quality as the import. Check out the pics below.

Snagged one off the cart, eh?

I can't wait for the manager to stock the Independence Day's and find one missing.

Certainly not your fault though.

LOL yeah. But it was a stock cart, had a bunch of regular DVD's that they were putting on the shelf. So I imagine they were about to put them on the self. There were only two so I wonder if that means they only got two in stock for Tuesdays release.

Probably. I've heard from various managers that some locations will receive under 5 copies. I'm unsure about the film itself, so I'm going to give it a rent myself.

Oh no! That reminds me, Best Buy doesn't always get the Fox catalog titles in on release day (in my area anyway). I really hope they get ID4 and I, Robot in on time though.

My BestBuy never puts out stuff early.

I havent seen ID4 in ages, and wasnt planning on grabbing this Blu. But those pics have me wanting to see it again!

I try to save money on my Blu purchases, but if I were to find something that I really want early, I will pay just about any price.

Well congrats on getting it early. Did you get a five-finger discount? My copy will be delivered hopefully on Monday. I pre-ordered mine from Buy.com last November for $24.00 plus $1.50 for S&H.

I ordered mine from tower.com (In stock on Monday last week by the way) It shipped Wednesday and should be here Monday. Cant wait...ahem $26 by the way.
