Dolly Parton's husband of nearly 60 years passed away at the age of 82 on Monday, March 3, 2025. Carl Dean eschewed publicity and lived a quiet life running an asphalt-paving business. He was so rarely seen that it was rumored that the two were not actually married. Ms. Parton always dispelled those rumors. “They think I just made him up,” she said.
