Everyday Ambassador
The U.S. presidential election illuminated just how divided Americans are. It’s not just the political rhetoric. They are consuming different media, having different conversations, even living different realities. So across these divides, how can Americans really hear and understand one another? What can be done to start repairing trust between people of differing opinions? How about trying a little diplomacy?
Join host Annelise Riles for Season 2 of Everyday Ambassador, where we talk to experts and geopolitical thinkers from around the world to show you the small moves that make big change. Listen on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Meet the host: Annelise Riles is a law professor and an anthropologist. She’s also a feminist, a mom, and a yoga dunce. Born in Peoria, Illinois, her work has taken her to places such as Suva Fiji, Beijing, Cambridge, the United Nations headquarters in New York, and Nagasaki. And she’s fascinated by what makes us different and also what we all have in common. As she puts it, “I believe in us. I think we can repair this broken world, learn to work across our differences, and create a safer and more peaceful world for all—and definitely think we should have fun while we’re at it.” She wants to learn from you and share what you know from research and life in global affairs because we need all the wisdom and all the leadership.
