Resolution:Approval of a Universal Code of Conduct
This proposal has been approved by the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. It may not be circumvented, eroded, or ignored by Wikimedia Foundation officers or staff nor local policies of any Wikimedia project. This resolution was approved on December 9, 2020. |
Whereas, the Board of Trustees has instructed the Foundation to develop a Universal Code of Conduct to create a binding minimum set of standards across all Wikimedia projects and spaces; and
Whereas, the Board has reviewed the draft Universal Code of Conduct written by the joint volunteer-staff drafting committee, with extensive community feedback and outreach and with documentation of modifications in a publicly available change log;
Now, therefore, it is:
RESOLVED, that the Board approves and adopts the Universal Code of Conduct as an enforceable policy across all online and offline Wikimedia projects and spaces; and
RESOLVED, that the second phase of the Universal Code of Conduct implementation, outlining clear enforcement pathways, should be completed by the end of 2020-2021 fiscal year (July 2021).
