I stumbled upon this album while reading my first history book on the Sumerians and fell in love with the artwork — that mysterious figure approaching the ziggurat. 'Enter The Netherrealm' and 'Bloodspells Of The Ancient' were on repeat for a period during my studies of ancient Sumer, and I still return to these tracks every now and then. The ambient opening that leads into that first riff and ritualistic scream of 'Bloodspells' is epic and numinous.
