Abi Hugo | Interiors, Upcycling & DIY on Instagram: "Painted fabric - did you know you can paint fabric with chalk paint?! 🤍 I mixed Cream Dream and a dash of Salt of the Earth in a 50/50 ration with fabric conditioner. I also mixed 50/50 water and fabric conditioner in a spray bottle to dampen the fabric first. I used my brush to really push the paint into the fibres rather than letting it sit on there like you would with furniture. I allowed the paint 24 hours between coats to dry fully and gave it a light scuff sand with a 240 grit sandpaper just to loosen the fibres slightly. Once it was fully dry I sealed it with Clear Wax, waited 5 min before buffing it off What do you think? Would you give it a go? Please note: this is just something I’ve personally experimented with and

Everyone has different preferences and what may work for one person might be annoying for another. These are three products that are my personal favorite and can absolutely recommend you give a shot 1. Denatured alcohol (or methylated spirits if you’re not in the U.S.): this is a real multi tasker. It’s great for getting rid of sticky glue spots, cleaning (especially glass) and reactivates shellac finishes. That means if you rub a piece that is sealed with shellac it will turn the shellac back to liquid. You can then push it around to fix scratches or wipe it off completely 2.
