Let me tell you something about introverts. If someone harms us, or hurts us, we don’t seek revenge, we don’t try to inflict pain back on to someone else. We don’t become mean or unkind to anyone. And we don’t try to get even, but we do get quiet, very, very quiet. We go silent as we process our feelings and our emotions. We retreat to solitude where we can be still with ourselves as we sort through our pain. As we wade and sift through whatever it was that broke our hearts. The truth is…

One of the most common reasons a man may go silent is that he needs some space to process his thoughts and feelings. Just like anyone else, men can feel overwhelmed by emotions and might retreat into silence as a way to cope. It doesn’t necessarily mean he’s unhappy or uninterested; he may just need time to gather his thoughts before discussing things further. Respecting his need for space can be beneficial for both of you in the long run.
