We removed the original crown molding and baseboards. 2. After transporting 192,192,827 boards on top of our small SUV (#weneedatruck), Andrew built the basic framework for the shelves. 3. He extended an electrical outlet from the floor board so we could later install three sconces between the four bookshelves. That part still amazes me, tbh. 4. After much trial and error, we realized it’d be best to build the actual birch bookshelf boxes outside and then bring them in. It’s an old house, this wall bows a bit, and this reframing (ha) would give us that beautiful continuous wood piece along the back of each shelf. 5.
