65K views · 73K reactions | DIY backsplash made EASY! ✨ Tiling for the first time felt like diving into the deep end, but it turned out to be way easier than I imagined! Once I got started, I realized it’s way more forgiving than it looks. If I can do it, you can too! Here’s what I used to tile this half bath: ✨ @musselboundtilemat adhesive – Super sticky and works on both smooth and lightly textured walls. (Heads up: Not renter-friendly—it can damage drywall when removed.) ❇️ @ryobitoolsusa wet saw – Great for small + large tiles and precision cuts. Easy to use and tbh it’s also pretty fun! 🛠 Grouting – I used premixed unsanded grout from @loweshomeimprovement —just add water, mix, and apply! Pro tip: Rinse your sponge in a bucket to keep grout out of your pipes. 🌷 @buyfloorsdirect has the best selection of tile local to Nashville + beyond! I found this beautiful floral tile with their expertise and love their selections! Available online too! First thing first, I picked up these pine tongue and groove wood boards from Home Depot. These are actually shiplap boards but I prefer to use the back of them for a little bit more texture. Painting the boards before installing will save you so much time. Not to mention, it is a pain trying to paint behind the toilet. You also want to measure your wall ahead of time so you can lay everything out to see if you need to make a rip on either side and make sure that all of the boards are on the wall evenly. You can also use a jigsaw to cut out a spot on the shiplap board for your waterline. After all the shiplap was installed, I touched up paint and hung these shelf brackets. Then cut out a piece of leftover pine wood that I had and used it as a shelf. And that's it. What do you think?
