I've never had this pie outside of a Louisiana family holiday dinner in my entire life. My mom says it's a dupe of a Piccadilly Cafeteria recipe, IYKYK. 😅 I went FULL food anthropologist on this recipe and I couldn't find a single recipe or reference for "Stupid Pie" but I found a few recipes for "Angel Pecan Pie", "Mock Pecan Pie", and "Ritz Pie" that had the same ingredients and instructions. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Apparently Piccadilly called this "Pecan Delight" and it is just that! I found one single reference to the origin of this pie and it was that in the 1950's or 1960's it was created for a church potluck to celebrate the arrival of a new pastor and
