Size matters… That’s why I decided to make my largest artwork last year when I painted ‘Snowflakes’. Working on a piece that is bigger than I am required a lot of paint; 10 litres to be exact. It also required a lot of patience to paint each of the 61 figures but the result was nothing short of amazing. I can’t wait to make another painting this size. Perhaps even bigger! Frozen - Werner Bronkhorst
Werner is een jonge Australische kunstenaar. Hij gebruikt een soort pasta dat ik open smeert op zijn canvas. Daar op schildert hij er kleine illustraties op die hem inspireren. Wat ik intresant vind is zijn texstuur dat er in zijn werken zit. Het geeft bij hem een veilig gevoel weer van calmte en rust. Ik wil ook graag de texstuur gebruiken in mijn illustraties door verschillende media’s. Hier mee zou ik mijn gevoeg van boosheid kunnen wee geven en de kijker het mee telaten voelen.
