lyrics
I’m tired of people and concrete
I’m sick of these fast cars and loud streets
Soon as I’m done working and collect my fees
I’m gonna get lost, don’t come for me
Will anybody even notice when I take off?
I’m pretty sure all the wheels will turn and the hands will tick the clock
How long can I get away from this place?
Cause it’s better for everyone if I don’t see anyone
Til I make a great escape
Cause I’m tired of people and concrete
I need a body of water and tall trees
Only mother nature is gonna bring me to my knees
I’m gonna get lost, don’t come for me
Let everything die that you gotta plug in
Eyes to the sky, hands on frets, toes in the sand
Think of all the things you’d like to release
You can give ‘em a name, and then give ‘em away to the almighty breeze
Only mother nature is gonna bring me to my knees
I’m gonna get lost, don’t come for me
Only mother nature is gonna bring me to my knees
I’m gonna get lost, don’t come for me
I’m gonna get lost
I was put off by the bigger arrangments, and I still have mixed feelings about the INCREDIBLE songwriting and lyrics of "What We Had" drowning in strings... but there's no denying their craft. These two are masterful, and if you already love them, you'll find new favs on this one.... they continue to prove that "old-time" songwriting can be applied to modern problems/issues just as beautifully and poignantly. redreds
