Absolute killer old school death metal release with a modern touch with its production. What I really like about this album is that it doesn't go out of its way to be super technical nor overly simplistic.
It's got that got that late 80s vibe with how some of the riffs and solos are layered together, palm muted chugs with a flow of trills up and down the fretboard, or how some songs open with mid-paced double bass with 2/4 and 4/4 time signatures and drop down to heavy slower tempos..
10/10

One of my best buds loves this band! I bought Duck Face Killings first because that album was more accessible price-wise. I have to say that this is pretty steep to pay $30 for a cd of this album.
Overall, this is a great mix of OSDM and modern death metal. No unnecessary guitar wankery, just good and catchy music to headbang to. The band keep a steady and flowing tempo that make it enjoyable to listen to.

I bought this on vinyl without knowing what I was getting into. Turned out to be one of my best "I hope it's cool" purchases ever. These guys are f'n amazing. Chimplord
A thrashy, blackened rock opera in the sensationalistic, pulpy tradition of slasher films; think Acid Bath by way of Wes Craven. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 4, 2025

Derrick manages to bring a bit of his Dream Unending urges into Tomb Mold, and with great effect. Every track on this is a winner, but "Will of Whispers" feels the most forward-thinking, mixing melody with heaviness and a near-fusion level of musicianship. My favourite modern death metal album. jcridford
