- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2015I love this book especially its use of a real life project to illustrate the SOA concepts and technologies. I am still reading and will update my comments when neccessary.
As promised, I have completed reading this book and I think it is the best developer book I have ever read. The database scripts, xml schemas and related code are all available on the book's website. Suggestion: make sure your SOA version matches that of the book to avoid any surprises.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2017Error handling approach/recommendations should have been part of this book in a separate chapter.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2015The best book for 12c
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2017Hard to read. Not enough screen shots after 3rd chapter. Missing the setup for the tables and DB adapter. When a book is made it should cover everything and teach us how to build full scenario including db tables and data. Otherwise what is the use.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2016Both helpful and disappointing. There is some good general information here. There is some practical tips about using the Orale SOA Suite. However, code samples for the book as well as the book itself leave out key information that prevent proper implementation of his examples. Here's just one glaring illustration: chapter 4 says: "Select or create a database connection that holds the Saibot Common tables." (Saibot is a fictional airport used in the book.) So, where are those tables, what are they? The author must have had them somewhere. The online web site that supports this book is incomplete as well -- and the author is not responding to queries.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2019it very good,
- Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2017I have to agree with other reviewer that commented on examples. There are lots of steps missing, and sometimes things just don't work and you have to hunt to try to find out why.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2017Good for beginners and middle soa developers
