"My favorite  part of Halloween is the pumpkin carving and when my children were little, dressing them up in costumes I’d sewn. Halloween only really came to be big in the UK in the past 20 years, but I made sure I had brought some of the American traditions over.  My second Halloween over here (1989), I went looking for pumpkins and the local supermarket was selling pieces of cut pumpkin. They used scoop up rutabagas to make jack o’lanterns in the North East of England!" ~ Michelle Styles

Mistletoe Fantasies
by Stacy Eaton
Amazon   Twitter: @StacySEaton

Reba St. James would prefer to serve the drinks or play hostess to the businessmen and their guests at Pleasure Your Fantasies, the gentlemen’s club where she’s employed. Unfortunately, when she needs extra money to pay off an urgent debt, the only position that pays her enough is dancing on stage with barely anything on.

Wallie has been a bodyguard at the club since it opened four years ago, and over the last year, he’s developed quite a crush on Ms. Reba. He might have thought he had a chance with her, except the club has a strict rule: No dating between guards and dancers.

When the attraction between Wallie and Reba reaches undeniable levels, Reba is ready to walk away from dancing altogether and try to find another way to help pay the bills, but when a final notice shows up, she’s forced to go from part-time dancing to full-time, and any chance of a relationship between them is put on hold.

Everything changes on Christmas Eve when Reba and another dancer get into a fight, and Reba is let go from the club. Will Reba lose everything, or will Reba and Wallie get more for the holidays than just their Mistletoe Fantasies?

Keeping warm has never been this hot!
“How the hell did I get here?”

It's Christmas morning, and June Evans is wondering how a solo vacation in search of a white Christmas has led her to having a hot and hard man moving between her trembling thighs.

Tom Allen, a mounted police officer, was meant to be spending a quiet holiday with his family, but a freak snowstorm traps him with what he wanted most this year, a chance at love.

VICKI: I don't like to be cold at all. When UGGS boots came out, I was on board and now, my feet stay warm.

STACY:  This year won’t be a problem! I recently started early menopause and the hot flashes could melt a snow bank! But normally, I don’t go outside! I’m not a lover of cold weather or winter sports, so I tend to hibernate during the colder months and write more. If I do have to go out, I have an incredible hubby who warms me up, inside and out. šŸ˜‰

CARMA: I stay warm in the winter by drinking hot chocolate, wearing my favorite sweater, and snuggling under Harry Potter blanket with my cat Mystic.

KRISTA: Literally, sleeping beside my husband is like having a furnace in my bed. Most of the time I don't even use blankets, while he is covered up to his chin lol.  Now, if we're talking in my dreams or my books...that's another story.  I'm all about those animal instincts and a roll in the sheets to heat up the room!!

SHARON: I love winter and Christmas is by far my favorite holiday. I stay warm snuggled beside my loving husband whom our grandchildren know is secretly the real Santa. You can't get much better than that!

RENE: I snuggle up with my preferred beverage, hot cocoa, a naughty romance and a warm blanket.

VICKI: All I want for Christmas is lots of laughs and good food with my family and plenty of chocolate.

STACY: All I want for Christmas is to have my family here to celebrate. I love huge family gatherings at Christmas. Love the cooking, love the hugs and smiles of my grandson, and I love knowing they are all around me. The only thing that would make this better, was if we were all celebrating Christmas on a Disney Cruise!

CARMA: All I want for Christmas is a Supernatural tattoo.

KRISTA: All I want for Christmas is a warm vacation and happy kids...lol

RENE: All I want for Christmas is a sexy Santa!

    Shorts by Vicki Batman

Angi: Tell us a little about the inspiration for each of the stories, Vicki.

Vicki: Thank you for having me at GLIAS, Angi! I’m so happy to share with everyone my new collection, Just Desserts…and Other Stories. All these stories are very very short, like 1,000 words and very satisfying. And what else do they have in common? They are romantic, funny, sweet, and most are set in small-town Sommerville.

Here’s a blurb about each story with a side note of what inspired me to write it.

    JUST DESSERTS

    Love blossoms
in the small town of Sommerville
    in these sweet,
heart-warming short tales filled with fun
    and forever possibilities.

BUG STUFF ~ An accountant unites with his co-worker to battle a pesky adversary.

A little two-fold. My roommate and I would set glasses over bugs and let them suffocate. And once a person said, “Can’t squash it. Bug guts…everywhere.”

JUST DESSERTS ~ A political dinner gone disastrous brings together a reluctant attendee and her handsome seat-mate.

I went to a political function and I’m not kidding about this: an attendee across the table took the meal from a person who had left the event. I was in shock.

WITH THIS RING ~ When a wife forgets the all-important little black dress, the evening turns into something utterly unforgettable.

Handsome and I had returned from one trip and turned around and flew somewhere later that day. I thought I’d packed a little black dress, only I hadn’t and made a mad dash to buy another. I’m not good at buying under pressure.

GOOD GIRLS FINISH FIRST ~ When men friends are challenged to fix breakfast if they lose a race, one woman leads the pack and discovers finishing first can lead to romance.

Honestly, I can’t remember how this one came about!!

OUCH ~ Who knew a yoga class would be so dangerous...and romantic?

This is pretty funny. I attended an outdoor yoga class and while meditating, a goose bit my finger.

MAN THEORY ~ When a geeky co-worker espouses his theory on love, a friend risks her heart.

Someone I am very close to said, “I have a theory about love.” My head went bing!!! The story nearly wrote itself.

TOMMY AND THE TEACHER ~ A young boy steals from the school’s book fair causing interesting possibilities to arise.

Someone I know stole money from the elementary school’s book fair. (Can’t say anything else cause I’ll be in trouble.)

ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY LOST ~ Helping a map-challenged young man find his way is truly serendipitous.

Handsome and I ended our Rhine River cruise in Amsterdam. While chilling out in a park, I watched a young man looked at a street sign and then at a piece of paper.

THE LITTLE BIRDIE WHO ~ A new town, a new friend, a new beginning. Who would have thought a little bird could bring two people together?

Our dogs chased a baby bird into our garage and it became lodged on a sticky bug trap. Handsome and I had to free it.

CHECK HER OUT ~ It’s a sticky situation, especially between a store manager and Auntie Caren when her nephew must pay for the gum he stole.

The little girl next door to my parents had gum in her hair and her mom eased it out with peanut butter.

THIS IS NOT WORKING ~ One of those days at a new job when nothing is going right, and then the boss steps in.

I’ve always thought Days of the Week panties are hilarious.

VICKI BATMAN has sold many romantic comedy works to magazines, several publishers, and most recently, two humorous romantic mysteries. Along the way she has garnered awards and bestsellers. She is a member of Romance Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and several writing groups. An avid Jazzerciser. Handbag lover. Mahjong player. Yoga practitioner. Movie fan. Book devourer. Cat fancier. Best Mom ever. And adores Handsome Hubby. Most days begin with her hands set to the keyboard and thinking "What if??"

    Happy reading!
