Static vs. dynamic websites: which architecture fits your project?

Static and dynamic websites differ mainly in when and where each page is generated. A static system serves completed HTML files. A dynamic CMS such as WordPress, Joomla or Drupal usually builds a page when it is requested, using server-side code and a database. This architectural choice affects performance, security, privacy, hosting and maintenance.

Publii is a desktop CMS that lets you manage your website locally and publish it as static files. The web server needs neither a Publii database nor PHP nor a publicly accessible Publii admin panel. The comparison below shows where this model offers advantages and when a dynamic CMS may be the better fit.

Speed and performance	Publii generates each page as a complete HTML file before publication. The web server can deliver it without a database query or server-side page generation. SEO and search visibility	Search-friendly URLs, metadata, XML sitemaps, structured data, Open Graph tags and Twitter Cards are built into Publii. You do not need an additional SEO plugin for these features.	SEO features depend on the CMS and its configuration. WordPress and similar systems often add many of them through plugins.
Security and reliability	The published website needs neither a Publii database nor PHP nor a public Publii admin panel. This removes much of the attack surface commonly associated with dynamic CMSs.	A public admin area, server-side runtime, database and extensions increase the attack surface. Regular updates and secure configuration are therefore important.
Privacy and data control (GDPR)	Publii does not add tracking services by default. Whether the published website complies with the GDPR still depends on its configuration, hosting and connected services.	Dynamic CMSs can also be configured for privacy. Plugins, analytics tools, external fonts and other services must be reviewed and, where necessary, controlled through consent.
Maintenance requirements	There is no Publii backend stack on the web server that requires ongoing updates. The Publii app, themes, plugins, integrations and hosting still need maintenance.	The CMS core, runtime, database, themes and plugins require regular updates, backups and monitoring. Managed hosting can handle some of these tasks.
Hosting cost and flexibility	The generated files work on static hosting platforms, object storage and conventional web servers. Because they do not require PHP or a database, the technical hosting requirements are often lower.	Dynamic systems need a compatible runtime and usually a database. Cost and administration depend on the CMS, traffic and hosting model.
Publishing and deployment	Publii supports FTP, FTPS, SFTP, GitHub Pages, GitLab Pages, Netlify, S3-compatible storage, Google Cloud and manual deployment.	Changes are usually published through the web-based admin area. Staging, automated deployment and other workflows depend on the CMS and hosting setup.
Editing and workflow	You edit content in a desktop app, preview the website locally and publish it through a graphical interface. The standard workflow does not require a command line.	A browser-based admin area can be reached from different devices. Ease of use and complexity vary with the CMS, theme and installed extensions.
Scalability	Static files can be delivered efficiently to many visitors through a CDN. Costs, bandwidth and other limits depend on the selected hosting provider.	High traffic may require caching, database optimization, additional server resources and a CDN. Managed platforms can simplify these tasks.
Architecture and data	Publii stores the project locally and generates HTML, CSS and JavaScript files from it. When you publish, the generated files are transferred to the web server or hosting service.	Content is usually stored in a database. Server-side code and templates generate the output, while a page cache may store completed versions temporarily.
Portability and vendor lock-in	The published website consists of portable static files and can usually be moved to another hosting provider with relatively little effort. Changing the CMS may still require a migration.	Portability depends on the CMS and its export tools. Content can often be exported, but themes, plugins and custom functionality may not transfer directly.
Offline work	You can create and edit content offline and check the website in a local preview. Publishing and connected online services require an internet connection.	The web-based admin area usually requires an internet connection. Local work is possible but generally needs an additional development environment.

1. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, the following terms are used:

Consumer - a natural person concluding a contract with the Administrator when the contract is not directly related to his or her business or professional activity; a Consumer is also a User,
File Access - a period of 12 consecutive months from the moment of placing an order and concluding a contract on purchasing a premium theme or add-on, during which the User has access to the purchased themes or add-ons; File Access is a non-renewable service and applies only to paid premium themes and add-ons,

User - a natural person with full legal capacity, a legal person, or a legal person without corporate status using the Website.

2. Preliminary provisions

Via the Website, the Administrator provides the Users with electronic services, including enabling the Users to conclude contracts for the provision of digital content and services. The Administrator also provides the option to purchase premium themes or add-ons via the Website.
To use the Website, it is not necessary for a computer or other device of the User to meet any special requirements. The following are sufficient:
1. Internet access,
2. a standard and up-to-date operating system (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X),
3. a standard and up-to-date web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox),
4. an active email address.
One can browse the Website anonymously, i.e. without providing personal data. However, creating a user account on the Website as well as concluding contracts require providing such data as first and last name, user name, email address, and address of residence. Creating a user account on the Forum requires providing a username and email address. If the User makes a purchase as part of their business activity, they also have to provide information about this activity (company, seat address, tax identification number).
It is forbidden for the User to provide unlawful content, in particular by sending such content through the forms available on the Website.
The prices shown on the Website may be provided in various currencies, depending on the User's location. If the User does not conduct business activity, tax on goods and services may be added to the price provided on the Website. The final gross price is presented at the stage of placing an order.
The Administrator shall make every effort to ensure that data transmission via the Internet within the use of the Website is safe, i.e. that the transmitted information is confidential, complete, and accurate. However, the Administrator shall not be held liable for unauthorized access to the transmitted data resulting from circumstances attributable to the User, such as spyware installed on the User's device.
In order to ensure the User's security, the Administrator takes technical and organizational measures appropriate to the degree of threat to the security of the services provided, in particular measures to prevent the acquisition and modification of personal data by unauthorized persons.
The Administrator may at any time decide to suspend or terminate the Website. The Administrator may also decide at any time to change, withdraw, or add new functions to the Website. Termination of the Website does not deprive the User of any rights resulting from contracts concluded via the Website, in particular in terms of access to updates and technical support during the term of the contract, and those services may be provided outside the Website. The cessation of operations shall also not affect any licenses granted for the use of themes or add-ons.
The Administrator is entitled to use the assistance of third parties in connection with the functioning of the Website, in particular to ensure the proper functioning, development, and operation of the Website.
The User is obliged to use the Website in a manner consistent with the law, the Terms, and good practice, in particular:
1. to use the Website in a way that does not interfere with its functioning, in particular by using specific software or devices,
2. not to take any actions aimed at obtaining information not intended for the User,
3. to use the Website in a manner not burdensome to other Users and the Administrator.
The Administrator may block access to the Website to a User who violates the provisions of paragraph 10 above.
Any complaints related to the provision of electronic services and the functioning of the Website shall be submitted via email to the email address contact@getpublii.com In the complaint, the User should provide data allowing their identification as a User of the Website, as well as the type and date of occurrence of irregularities related to the functioning of the Website. The administrator will respond to the complaint within 14 days of its receipt.

3. Free of charge services

The basic service provided electronically by the Administrator to the User is to provide the User with the possibility of viewing the publicly available content of the Website.
The Administrator also provides the User with an option to download free of charge the Publii application and the themes and add-ons that are available free of charge. The Administrator remains free to decide which themes and add-ons will be available for a fee and which will be free. Themes and add-ons available for a fee have been marked on the Website as premium.
The Publii application and free themes and add-ons are distributed under the GNU GPL license, which you can read here: https://getpublii.com/license.html It is not required to create the User’s account in order to download Publii and free themes or add-ons.
The Administrator creates user accounts for each User when they place an order. The account stores the User's data and the history of orders placed by them on the Website. The User logs into the account using their email address or login and a password defined by them. The User account agreement is concluded for an indefinite period, and the User may terminate it at any time by deleting the User account. For the avoidance of doubt, the Administrator reminds that deleting the account means losing access to files purchased on the Website.
The user can create an account on the Forum. In order to do so, it is necessary to fill in an account registration form. Within the account on the Forum, the data given by the User during the registration process and posts added by the User on the Forum are stored. The agreement for maintaining the User account is concluded for an indefinite period and can be terminated by the User at any time by deleting the account.
If the User decides to subscribe to the newsletter, the Administrator also provides the User with an electronic service consisting in sending the User email messages containing information about new products, promotions, services, products related to the Website. Subscribing to the newsletter is possible by completing and sending the subscription form for the newsletter or selecting the appropriate checkbox in the ordering process or in the account registration form. The User may unsubscribe from receiving the newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button visible in each message sent as part of the newsletter or by sending a relevant request to the Administrator.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

The Administrator hereby informs the User that the Website also includes content that is not available under the GNU GPL license or under the license described in § 8 of the Terms. Such content constitutes works as defined by the copyright law, to which the Administrator is entitled.
The Administrator hereby informs the User that further distribution of the content by the User without the Administrator's consent, with the exception of using the content within the framework of permitted personal use, constitutes an infringement of the Administrator's copyright and may result in civil or criminal liability.

5. Orders

Via the Website, the User may purchase a premium theme or add-on.
Users who have an account on the Website must log in to place an order. If the User does not yet have an account on the Website, the account will be created with their first order, in accordance with § 3 paragraph 4.
In order to make a purchase, the User must select a theme or add-on, fill in the order form, choose one of the two available payment options: PayPal or Stripe, read and accept the Terms, and then click the "Order now with obligation to pay" button. When you click the "Order now with obligation to pay" button, depending on the selected payment option:
1. PayPal: you will be redirected to PayPal to make the payment. After making the payment, the User will be redirected back to the Website with the payment confirmation. At this moment, the contract between the Administrator and the User is concluded.
2. Stripe: you will remain on the checkout page and enter your debit or credit card details. Upon successful payment, the User will be redirected to the Website with a confirmation of payment. At this moment, the contract between the Administrator and the User is concluded.
By placing an order and paying for it, the User gains access to the purchased premium themes or add-ons. Along with paying for the order, the User also acquires the license described in § 8 of the Terms. The purchased themes or add-ons can be viewed and downloaded by the User for a period of 12 months from the conclusion of the contract. For the avoidance of doubt, the Administrator emphasizes that 12 months after the purchase of themes or add-ons, the User shall lose the possibility to download them from his or her account. Loss of the ability to download themes or add-ons does not affect the license described in § 8 of the Terms for it is granted for an indefinite period.
On the basis of the concluded contract, the Administrator undertakes to provide the User with access to updates of the purchased theme or add-on for a period of 12 months from the conclusion of the contract (File Access). For the avoidance of doubt, the Administrator shall emphasize that the above obligation expires after 12 months, which means that after that period the Administrator is not obliged to provide updates to the purchased theme or add-on.
As part of the concluded contract for the purchase of a premium theme or add-on, the Administrator also provides technical support for the purchased items for a period of 3 months from the conclusion of the contract.
Access to updates and technical support may be provided via the Website or otherwise, in particular via email or file sharing platforms.
Access to updates does not mean that the Administrator is obligated to release any updates during the File Access period. This provision does not exclude the obligation from paragraph 5 above.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Administrator shall emphasize that they provide support only for themes or add-ons purchased from the Website. The support service includes assistance with the installation, configuration, and use of the purchased products. The Administrator is not obliged to provide support for themes or add-ons purchased from third parties.
The Administrator is not obliged to take any actions consisting in changing the way the theme or add-on functions or its appearance to the extent going beyond that described in paragraphs 5 and 6 above. In particular, the Administrator is not obliged to ensure compatibility of the themes or add-ons with the add-ons provided by third parties. The Administrator is also not obliged to implement changes to the layout and functionalities of themes or add-ons justified by individual needs of the User.
The Administrator undertakes to answer the inquiries sent by the User as part of technical support no later than within 5 days.
Upon expiration of the 12-month period specified in paragraph 5 above, the User will receive a message reminding about the loss of the ability to download the purchased files as well as information about the available options to prolong the File Access period. Any such renewal will only include download access to previously purchased files. The technical support specified in paragraph 6 above is not included in the renewal price. If the User is interested in obtaining additional technical support beyond the original contractual period of 3 months (indicated in paragraph 6 above), the User may request a quote for the required services via the form available at: https://getpublii.com/customization-service/. Once the access to the files/updates lapses, users are granted a 60-day grace period for renewal. Failure to renew within this window necessitates a repurchase of the product in order to regain access to the files. The details concerning re-access to purchased files and other services shall be agreed between the Administrator and the User individually in an exchange of email messages.
For the avoidance of any doubt, the Administrator shall point out that a contract concluded for a definite period of time is not subject to termination during its duration, except for important reasons. For the purposes of possible settlements between the User and the Administrator related to the termination of the contract by the User, it is assumed that the value of a theme or an add-on is 50% of the amount of the payment for the entire File Access period made by the User.

6. Payment

Payment for contracts concluded through the Website is only possible through the PayPal and Stripe electronic payment systems.
Payment takes place directly on the PayPal or Stripe website. Therefore, the Administrator does not process any data related to the payment made.
An invoice documenting the payment made is available in electronic form in the User Panel. In order to obtain access to the invoice, the User must log in to his or her account on the Website and then enter the "User panel." The Administrator shall inform the User about issuing an invoice by sending a message to the email address assigned to the User account.

7. Terms of use for themes and add-ons

Themes and add-ons available on the Website are compatible only with the Publii application available for download on the Website. The Administrator does not ensure that themes or add-ons work properly with any other application.
To ensure the proper functioning of themes and add-ons, it is necessary to regularly update the Publii application. The Administrator shall not be held liable for the incorrect functioning of purchased files if the User does not use the latest version of the Publii application.
Themes and add-ons offered by the Administrator are compatible with the latest, stable browsers: Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, in their newest versions. The Administrator shall not be held responsible for the malfunction of themes and add-ons in browsers other than mentioned or in their outdated versions.

8. License for Premium themes

The User can use premium themes or add-ons under the terms described below.
As soon as the Administrator receives the entire remuneration due for the purchase of a premium theme or extension, they grant the User a non-exclusive license to use the theme or add-on in the following fields of exploitation:
1. publicly sharing the theme or add-on in such a way that everyone can access it at a place and time of their choosing, especially in IT networks and as part of any telecommunications services,
2. entering the theme or add-on to the memory of a computer or other electronic device, including IT system servers,
3. using portions of the theme or add-on for promotional and merchandising purposes.
The license is granted for an indefinite period of time. The Administrator shall not exercise the right to terminate the license except in cases when the User violates the terms of the granted license and infringes the Administrator's copyrights, and does not cease the violation despite the Administrator's request. If the terms of the license are violated, the Administrator can terminate the license on one month's notice, effective at the end of the calendar month.
The license applies to the use of the theme or add-on on any website selected by the User.
As part of the use of the theme or add-on, the User may make changes to it justified by the needs of their website.
The User is entitled to grant further licenses (sublicenses) to use the theme or add-on to their customers. The User may also use the purchased themes or add-ons for commercial purposes on behalf of their customers. However, it is forbidden to resell or make available for download any materials purchased on the Website.
The license is unlimited in terms of territory, which means that the User may use the theme or add-on in the fields of exploitation specified in paragraph 2 above throughout the world.
The Handlebars and HTML code used within themes or add-ons (including premium content) are made available under the GNU GPL license, which you may review at the following link: https://getpublii.com/license/
Dedicated CSS code that creates themes or premium add-ons constitutes a work under copyright law. The rules for using the CSS code are described in this paragraph.
The Administrator shall not be held liable for the conditions of use of the elements created by third parties. The license terms governing the use of these elements are determined by third parties.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Administrator shall confirm that the duration of the File Access period is not the same as the duration of the license to use themes or add-ons. The scope of the obligation resulting from the File Access is described in § 5 of these Terms.

9. Maintenance breaks and technical issues

The Administrator shall make every effort for the Website to operate in an uninterrupted and undisturbed manner.
The Administrator is entitled to temporary breaks in the operation of the Website for technical reasons. The Administrator will notify the User about the planned technical breaks by email.
The Administrator hereby informs the User that temporary interruptions in the operation of the Website may also be unplanned, in particular due to malfunctions and technical failures beyond the Administrator's control.
The Administrator takes actions in order to ensure that the Website functions properly, but is not able to guarantee that the User will not encounter various technical problems while using the Website. The User should inform the Administrator about any irregularities or interruptions in the functioning of the Website.
The Administrator shall not be held responsible for limitations or technical issues in IT systems used by the User which prevent or hinder the use of the Website.

10. Withdrawal from the contract

Pursuant to Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2011 on consumer rights, amending Council Directive 93/13/EEC and Directive 1999/44/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Council Directive 85/577/EEC and Directive 97/7/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, the User who has consented to the supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium before the expiry of the withdrawal period, thereby has no right of withdrawal.

11. Complaints

The Administrator is obliged to provide the Consumer with a defect-free product. The Administrator is liable to the Consumer if the sold product has a physical or legal defect (warranty for defects). If the User does not conclude a contract with the Administrator as a Consumer, they shall accept that the Administrator's warranty for defects of the sold item is excluded.
Consumer rights are also granted to a natural person concluding a contract with the Administrator directly related to their business activity, when the content of this contract shows that it does not have a professional character for that person, resulting in particular from the subject of their business activity, that such a person acts as a Consumer.
Any complaints related to the use of the Website, including the purchased themes or add-ons, can be submitted electronically to the following address contact@getpublii.com.
The complaint should contain the identification and contact details of the User, description and justification of the complaint, as well as the demands related to the complaint.
The Administrator shall respond to the complaint submitted by the User within 14 days via email.

12. Personal data and cookies

The Administrator is the controller of the User’s personal data.
The User's personal data are processed for the following purposes and based on the following legal grounds:
1. conclusion and execution of the user account agreement—Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR,
2. conclusion and performance of the contract —Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR,
3. fulfillment of tax and accounting obligations—Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR,
4. defense, pursuit, or establishment of claims related to the contract, which is a legitimate interest pursued by the Administrator—Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR,
5. creating an archive for the purposes of a possible need to defend, establish, or pursue claims—Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR,
6. handling inquiries from Users not yet leading to the conclusion of a contract, which is a legitimate interest pursued by the Administrator— Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR,
7. identification of a returning customer, which is a legitimate interest pursued by the Administrator—Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR,
8. ending the newsletter, after prior consent— Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR.
The following entities may be involved in the processing of personal data as processors: a hosting provider, providers of software in which personal data are processed (e.g. mailing systems), subcontractors gaining access to personal data in connection with the performance of their duties or the services commissioned to them. All processing entities are bound to the Administrator by personal data processing entrustment agreements and guarantee an appropriate level of personal data protection.
Personal data may be transferred to law firms in order to provide the Administrator with legal assistance if such assistance requires access to personal data. In addition, personal data may be transferred to tax offices to the extent necessary to perform tax, settlement, and accounting obligations and to entities, bodies, or institutions authorized to obtain access to data on the basis of legal provisions, such as the police, security services, courts, public prosecutor's offices.
As part of using the Acumbamail mailing system, the User's personal data may be transferred to the Spain, in connection with their storage on Spanish servers. The supplier of the mailing system guarantees an appropriate level of personal data protection.
The User's personal data are stored in the Administrator's database for the entire duration of the business activity in order to ensure the possibility of identifying the returning customer, which, however, can be objected by the User, demanding that their data be erased from the Administrator's database. If such an objection is filed before the expiry of the limitation period for claims under the concluded contract, the Administrator will have an overriding interest in storing the User's data until the expiry of the limitation period for claims. Accounting documentation containing the User's personal data is stored for the period required by law. If the limitation period for civil law claims, criminal record, or penalties under administrative law expires after the end of the business activity, the data will be erased after this period.
The User's rights related to the processing of personal data: the right to access the data, the right to demand the rectification of the data, the right to erase the data, the right to restriction of data processing, the right to object to the processing of data, the right to transfer data, the right to withdraw consent to the processing of personal data, the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
Providing personal data by the User is voluntary but necessary to contact the Administrator, conclude a contract, or subscribe to the newsletter.
The Website uses first-party cookies only. First-party cookies are used for the proper functioning of the Website and for statistical purposes related to determining the User's location.

13. Out-of-court complaint and redress procedures

The Administrator agrees to submit any disputes arising in connection with contracts concluded through the Website to mediation proceedings. Details shall be determined by the conflicting parties.
The Consumer has the option of using out-of-court complaint and redress procedures. Among other things, the Consumer has the option to:
1. apply to a permanent consumer arbitration court with a request to resolve a dispute arising from the concluded contract,
2. apply to the regional Trade Inspectorate inspector with a request to initiate mediation proceedings regarding the amicable settlement of the dispute between the Consumer and the Administrator,
3. use the assistance of a county (municipal) consumer ombudsman or a social organization whose statutory tasks include consumer protection.
For more detailed information on out-of-court complaint and redress procedures, the Consumer can visit: http://www.polubowne.uokik.gov.pl.
The Consumer may also use the ODR platform, which is available at: http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. The platform is used to settle disputes between consumers and entrepreneurs seeking out-of-court settlement of a dispute regarding contractual obligations arising from an online contract.

14. Final provisions

The Administrator reserves the right to introduce and cancel offers, promotions and to change prices on the Website without prejudice to the rights acquired by the User, including in particular the terms of contracts concluded before the change.
The law applicable to contracts concluded through the Website is Polish law. This does not deprive the Consumer of the possibility to invoke rights arising from the law of the country in which they reside.
Any disputes related to contracts concluded through the Website shall be resolved by the Polish common court with jurisdiction over the Administrator's registered place of business. This provision does not apply to Consumers, in whose case the choice of court results from the provisions of the law. This provision also does not apply to a natural person concluding a contract with the Administrator directly related to their business activity, when the content of this contract indicates that it is not of a professional nature for that person, resulting in particular from the subject of their business activity—in the case of such a person the choice of court shall be considered in accordance with general principles.
The Administrator reserves the right to introduce changes to these Terms. Paid contracts concluded prior to the amendment of the Terms shall be governed by the Terms in force on the date of conclusion of the contract.
Users who have an account on the Website will be notified by email to the email address assigned to their account of any changes to these Terms. If they do not accept the content of the new Terms, they have the right to terminate the account agreement at any time by deleting their account or by submitting to the Administrator an appropriate statement, in any form, on termination of the account agreement.
The contracts concluded before the entry into force of amendments to these Terms and Conditions, in particular to the terms of granted licenses, shall be governed by the regulations in force at the time the agreement is concluded. Publii FAQ: How the static CMS works

Publii is a desktop CMS that creates static websites. You manage the site locally, generate the finished files on your computer, and publish them to your chosen hosting provider. This FAQ explains the workflow, costs, hosting options, privacy controls, and differences from WordPress.

What is Publii?

Publii is a free, open-source desktop CMS for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It provides visual tools for writing, organizing, and previewing content, then generates a static website made from HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and media files.

The Publii application and its content database stay on your computer. The published website does not require the Publii application, PHP, or a CMS database on the server. See the Publii documentation for an overview of the workflow.

How does Publii work?

You create and edit the site in the Publii desktop application. When you preview or publish, Publii combines your content with the selected theme and generates the finished website files.

Create a site and choose a theme.
Write posts or pages and configure navigation, SEO, and site settings.
Preview the generated website locally.
Publish the files to a supported hosting provider or export them for manual deployment.

Visitors receive the generated files from the host. Publii does not need to run on the public server.

How is Publii different from WordPress?

Publii generates pages before publication. A conventional self-hosted WordPress site uses PHP, a database, themes, and plugins on the server to build or retrieve a response. Full-page caching can let WordPress serve pre-generated HTML, so the practical difference depends on its hosting and configuration.

Because Publii generates the HTML before deployment, the host has less work to do for a standard page request and exposes a smaller live CMS attack surface. Is Publii free?

The Publii core application is free and open-source under the GPL-3.0 license. You can use it for personal and commercial websites without buying the application. The source code and license are available in the Publii GitHub repository.

Running a website can still involve costs. Hosting, domains, optional premium themes, plugins, and third-party services may be paid. The Publii Marketplace contains both free and commercial products.

Can I use Publii offline?

Yes. After installation, you can create and edit content, change site settings, customize installed themes, and preview the generated site without an internet connection. Site data remains on your computer unless you place it in a synchronized folder or publish it to a remote host.

You need internet access to publish to an online server, download application updates or Marketplace products, and use any external resources or services that your site depends on.

Where can I host a Publii website?

Publii can publish to several hosting and storage services:

FTP, FTPS, or SFTP hosting
Netlify
Amazon S3
Google Cloud Storage
GitHub Pages
GitLab Pages
a Git repository
manual deployment to a local folder

The generated files can be moved between compatible hosts because the public site does not require a Publii-specific server stack. Features such as HTTPS, custom domains, CDN delivery, redirects, and pricing depend on the selected provider and may require additional configuration. Do I need coding knowledge to use Publii?

No coding is required for the standard publishing workflow. Publii includes a Block Editor and a WYSIWYG Editor for visual editing. A separate Markdown Editor is available for writers who prefer Markdown syntax.

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Handlebars are useful when you want to create or substantially modify a theme. These skills are optional for writing content, managing navigation, changing standard theme settings, and publishing a site. Compare the three Publii editors or see the theme developer documentation.

What types of websites work well with Publii?

Publii is suited to content-focused websites whose core pages can be generated before publication. Common examples include:

blogs and magazines
documentation and knowledge bases
portfolios
company and product websites
campaign and landing pages
small resource directories

A different platform may be a better fit when the website depends on browser-based team editing, customer accounts, memberships, complex ecommerce, frequently changing database content, or extensive server-side application logic.

Can a Publii site use forms, comments, search, or ecommerce?

Yes. A static site can use client-side JavaScript, Publii plugins, APIs, and external services for features such as search, analytics, comments, forms, chat, and ecommerce.

These integrations can introduce their own scripts, cookies, data processing, security requirements, and costs. For a project built around accounts, real-time collaboration, or complex transactions, a dynamic application or a dedicated backend may be more appropriate.

Is Publii suitable for a privacy-focused website?

Publii can provide a privacy-conscious starting point because the published site does not require a public CMS login, a Publii database, or server-side Publii processing. Official themes also keep their standard assets local rather than loading them from third-party CDNs.

The final privacy profile depends on the complete site. Hosting logs, analytics, forms, embedded media, comments, advertising, fonts, and other third-party integrations can collect or transmit visitor data. Review each service and disclose relevant processing in the site's privacy information.

No CMS can guarantee that a website is GDPR-compliant. Compliance depends on what data the site collects, why it is processed, which services receive it, the applicable legal basis, retention practices, disclosures, and the site's configuration.

Publii includes tools that can help with privacy-oriented configuration, including a cookie banner, consent groups, privacy controls for embedded content, and integrations for consent-aware services. Site owners remain responsible for configuring and testing those tools and obtaining legal advice when required. See the GDPR cookie banner documentation.

Can teams or multiple authors use Publii?

Publii supports multiple author profiles, but it is not a browser-based multi-user CMS with central accounts, roles, and simultaneous editing. The application was designed around local site files.

A team can place a Publii site in a shared, synchronized folder and open it on multiple computers. Contributors should coordinate edits and backups to avoid conflicting file changes. Follow the multi-computer workflow guide before sharing a project.

How is Publii different from a command-line static site generator?

Both Publii and tools such as Hugo or Jekyll generate static files. The main difference is the authoring workflow.

Is Publii headless or serverless?

Publii is primarily a local static CMS. It renders content and themes into a finished website rather than serving content from a hosted headless CMS API.

You can publish the generated site to managed static hosting and connect individual features to APIs or serverless functions. In that setup, the hosting or integrations may use serverless infrastructure, but Publii does not require it. The terms describe deployment and integration choices, not the basic Publii publishing model.

With many core Publii features now in place, we would like to expand the library of themes and plugins that Publii has to offer by allowing external submissions for both plugins and themes from our users that will be advertised on their respective Publii Marketplace.

If you've created a plugin or theme for Publii that you feel would be helpful for other users, you may submit it to the Publii Marketplace via the following process:

Create a site where the plugin or theme is described in detail, and may be downloaded by Publii users; this can be your own site or a GitHub repo.
Submit your plugin or theme for review; the submission should include a screenshot and a short but concise description/feature list. For plugins, an icon should also be included that will be displayed on the Plugin Marketplace; this is not required for themes.
Our core team will review the plugin or theme to ensure it meets our quality criteria.
After review, if accepted, a description page will be added to the Publii Marketplace with a link to your extension page that you provided when submitting the plugin or theme for review.

Human Authorship & Maintenance

Every plugin or theme submitted to the Marketplace must have a named, accountable human developer or team behind it. We do not accept submissions authored, generated, or maintained by autonomous AI agents acting as the credited developer. Using AI tools as part of your own development workflow is fine - what matters is that a real person stands behind the code, can be reached for support, and takes responsibility for keeping the extension working with future Publii releases.

Plugin Submission Requirements

As noted above, four elements are required for plugin submissions; a Download Location, a Screenshot, an Icon, and a Description with a Feature List. These elements should contain the following:

Download Location - This should be either your own personal site, or a GitHub or similar page where users will be able to download your plugin.
Screenshots - Screenshots should be of high-quality in .png format (min. 144dpi). At a minimum, a single screenshot of the options screen is required to maintain a standard layout with other Publii plugins. However, if the plugin provides visual elements or effects on a page, then a screenshot of the plugin in use should be included instead.
Icon - The icon will be used when displaying the plugin in the list of plugins on the Publii marketplace.
Description with Feature List - This section should follow the standard used by other plugins on the marketplace; a short, single-paragraph description of the app concept and function, and a short unordered list of available features and options.

Additional technical requirements for plugins

To ensure consistency and offline compatibility across installations, submitted plugins must:

Avoid external dependencies at runtime – Plugins should not rely on third-party CDNs (e.g., jsDelivr, unpkg, Google Fonts, etc.). Instead, include all required JS/CSS files locally within the plugin directory.
Avoid using "Publii" in the plugin name – Plugin names must not include the word "Publii" to prevent confusion with official core plugins. Use descriptive, generic names instead.

Theme Submission Requirements

Theme submissions for the marketplace generally require the same elements as the plugin submissions, with some minor differences. The required content includes: a Download Location, a Screenshot, and a Description. These elements should include the following:

Download Location - As with the plugin submissions, the download location should be your personal site, or a GitHub or other similar page where users will be able to download the theme file.
Screenshot - The screenshot should be high-quality in .png format (min. 144 dpi) . Usually, this should include the main elements of the frontpage, such as the header and post listings if relevant. The intention is to communicate the core design philosophy of the theme.
Description - The description should be one or two paragraphs covering the features and design of the theme, and the target demographic e.g. it may mention that the theme is useful for portfolio or personal blog sites.

Additional technical requirements for themes

Theme submissions should also follow similar principles:

Use only locally hosted assets - Any JS, CSS, or font files used in the theme must be stored inside the theme’s directory structure. External CDN resources are not allowed.
Do not use "Publii" in the theme name - To avoid confusion with official themes, the theme name should not include the word "Publii". Instead, use creative or descriptive names that reflect the theme's purpose or style.

Submission Review

When reviewing submitted plugins, the main factors that our team will look for is functionality and ease-of-use; does the plugin provide a feature or function that will be useful to our users? Are the available options sufficiently explained? Does the plugin conform to the standards established by the core plugins?

For themes, the criteria will be focused more on layout and stylings, included features, and efficient code to ensure minimal load impact on sites that choose to utilize the theme.

We will test the live preview as part of the review - broken links, non-functional interactions, or placeholder-quality demos are grounds for rejection regardless of the underlying code.

In the case that a submission is rejected, our team will be able to provide a general reason as to why, but we won't be able to go into finer detail about build/functionality/aesthetic issues, as doing so wouldn't be maintainable as the number of submissions grow.

Premium Plugins and Themes

Premium plugins or themes that require payment may be submitted to the Publii Marketplace. However, please be aware that the Publii Marketplace will only showcase the plugin or theme, and provide a link for users to visit your site for purchase. Processing of payments, invoicing, post-purchase support and other sales-related requirements will be the responsibility of the plugin or theme developer; Publii will not provide any support in this area.

Accepted Submissions

Once a submission of a plugin or theme is accepted, you will be notified and the plugin or theme will be uploaded to the respective Publii Marketplace. Accepted plugins will use the submitted icon to display the plugin in the marketplace, with the screenshot, short description and feature-list included on the main plugin page.

For themes, the screenshot will be used to display the theme on the marketplace, with the one or two paragraph description and screenshot included on the main theme page.

Additional screenshots, features and a detailed description of your extensions should be included on the theme or plugin page of your website.

Support for User-Submitted Plugins and Themes

As a small team, it will not be possible for us to provide support for submitted plugins or themes to our users. Each plugin/theme author will thus be responsible for troubleshooting or assisting users with their queries or issues as they arise.

In this way, we hope to greatly expand the functionalities available in Publii, while also maintaining a standard of quality so that Publii remains an inviting, welcoming solution for all users, especially those with less experience of web development.

Publii builds your website locally on your computer, then generates a complete set of static files and publishes them to your server. When someone opens a page, the published site does not need to query a database or run server-side PHP to assemble the content. The server can deliver the pre-generated HTML directly.

This architecture gives SEO for static websites a straightforward technical base. The primary content is already present in the HTML, URLs can use a readable structure, and pages can be served without database overhead. Publii also includes settings for page titles, meta descriptions, robots directives, structured data, Open Graph tags and XML sitemaps.

The same SEO fundamentals apply to Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. A page must be indexed and eligible to appear in Google Search with a snippet before it can be shown as a supporting link. Google does not require a special AI file, a separate AI schema or a different version of the page.

Clear headings, accessible HTML, descriptive metadata and a good page experience help people and crawling systems use your content. Publii provides the technical foundation, but it cannot guarantee rankings or inclusion in AI features. Visibility also depends on content quality and relevance, competition, links from other websites and the site's actual performance.

Publii provides technical SEO tools for search engines and AI systems

Publii brings settings for metadata, indexing, URLs, structured data and sitemaps together in the desktop app. These tools help search engines crawl, index and interpret your content. Because AI-powered search features rely on indexed web content, the same crawlable HTML and clear page structure matter there too. You can manage this technical SEO foundation without editing the generated HTML whenever something changes, and no separate AI-specific markup is required.

Control titles, metadata and indexing

Set page titles, meta descriptions and robots directives from the app. You can define reusable SEO rules for different page types, including posts, author pages, tag pages, search results and error pages, then override the defaults for individual content when necessary.

Publii can also add a noindex directive to selected content or the entire website. This tells compliant search engines not to include those pages in their results. Noindex is not access control, however, and it does not replace authentication or password protection.

Structured data

Add machine-readable context to your posts

Publii can add structured data to full post pages automatically, giving search engines machine-readable information about the published content. Depending on the theme, developers can extend the markup with Publii's JSON-LD helper when a project needs additional schema.

Valid structured data can make a page eligible for supported rich results, but it does not guarantee that they will appear. The markup must also match the content visible on the page. Google does not require special structured data for AI Overviews or AI Mode.

URLs

Publish clean, search-friendly URLs

Publii can publish pages with the .html extension or as Pretty URLs. When Pretty URLs are enabled, the file extension is removed from the public address. You retain control over slugs and can configure prefixes for posts, tags and authors.

Descriptive URLs give visitors useful context before they open a page and make the hierarchy easier for search engines to interpret. A consistent structure also helps keep related content organized as the website grows.

Sitemap

Generate an XML sitemap automatically

An XML sitemap gives search engines a structured list of the public URLs you want them to discover. Publii generates this file automatically and updates it with the published website.

You can choose whether to include tag pages, author pages, homepage pagination and external images, and you can exclude specific files. A sitemap supports discovery and helps crawlers understand the available URL set, but it does not guarantee indexing or higher rankings.

Control how shared links appear

Publii can generate Open Graph tags and Twitter Cards for your content. You decide which titles, descriptions and preview images are used when a link is shared on social networks, messaging apps and other services that support these formats.

These tags do not replace the page title and meta description used for search. Their purpose is to create recognizable, consistent link previews when someone shares your content outside the website.

Publii's in-house themes use HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript instead of depending on a heavy front-end framework. Keeping the client-side code focused can reduce rendering work and leaves the primary content available directly in the HTML.

The themes are responsive and designed for different screen sizes. This provides a solid starting point, but the final Core Web Vitals results also depend on images, fonts, external scripts, hosting and any modifications made to the theme.

Code

Publish semantic HTML with minimal JavaScript

Publii's in-house themes output the primary content directly as HTML instead of assembling it in the browser with a client-side framework. Semantic elements identify parts of the page such as navigation, articles, headings and footers.

This makes the document structure easier to process for browsers, assistive technologies and search engine crawlers. It also means that access to the main content does not depend on a large JavaScript application being executed first.

Performance

Optimize loading behavior in the app

In Website Settings, you can enable native lazy loading for media, generate responsive image sizes and compress HTML and CSS. Publii can also remove HTML comments during compression and add a version parameter that tells browsers to refresh cached assets when the website changes.

These options help reduce transferred data and avoid loading some resources before they are needed. The most suitable configuration still depends on the theme, the published content and the caching behavior of your hosting platform.

Images

Convert JPG and PNG images to WebP automatically

When responsive images are enabled, Publii can generate WebP variants for JPG and PNG files. The original image remains available as a fallback, while the browser can select a suitable generated file through srcset.

WebP files are often smaller than comparable JPG or PNG files at a similar visual quality. Smaller files can reduce image transfer time, although the actual saving depends on the source image, its dimensions and the selected quality settings.

Static websites remove many of the components required by dynamic CMSs. A website published with Publii does not need a publicly accessible database, PHP or a public Publii admin panel. This reduces the attack surface and the number of server-side processes that could handle personal data.

A static website is not automatically free from data processing. Hosting logs, analytics, forms, embedded media and other external services may still collect data or send it to third parties. You decide which services your site uses when you configure it.

Publii includes privacy tools for managing services that require consent. Create cookie groups, block external content until a visitor gives consent and pass consent choices to supported services.

These tools can support GDPR- and CCPA-friendly workflows, but the requirements that apply to your site depend on its actual configuration.

Publii runs as a desktop app on your computer. You can manage content locally without a Publii cloud account or login.

The app does not collect telemetry or usage statistics about your work. Drafts and site data stay on your computer until you publish them or connect the project to an external service.

This gives you control over where your content is stored and when it is published.

Themes

All theme assets are served locally

Official free and premium Publii themes keep fonts, scripts, icons and CSS files on your webspace, together with images generated by Publii. These themes do not use a CDN or another third-party provider to deliver those assets.

This prevents theme assets from creating automatic connections to external providers. When assessing the privacy of the complete website, also consider your hosting, extensions and every external resource you add.

Configure the cookie banner for your site

Use Publii's built-in cookie banner to inform visitors about cookies and request consent when required.

Choose a simple notice or configure detailed consent with multiple cookie groups. Describe each group's purpose, link to your privacy policy and provide appropriate accept and reject options. Before publishing, test that every script and service requiring consent is assigned to the correct group.

Consent for embedded content

Block embedded content until a visitor consents to the assigned cookie group. Publii displays a placeholder with customizable text and a button instead, so services such as YouTube or Vimeo are not loaded on the initial page view.

Enable privacy-enhanced mode for YouTube and Do Not Track for Vimeo to reduce tracking by embedded videos. The player is still external content. If it should load only after consent, also assign it to the appropriate cookie group.

Publii offers optional plugins for search, comments and analytics. If a plugin sets cookies or sends data to an external service, assign it to the appropriate cookie group in the app. Its script will load according to the stored consent choice. 1. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:

Application – software created by the Administrator to aid in the creation of websites, distributed by the Administrator under the name "Publii",
Consumer - a natural person who enters into a contract with the Administrator that is not directly related to the person's business or professional activity,
Theme – a set of design files that define the appearance and structure of a website; the Theme controls the visual elements of the website, such as layout, typography, colors, and other style aspects; the Themetypically consists ofHandlebars, CSS and, optionally,JavaScript files; the Theme is used to give a unique style to the website, allowing for quick changes to the appearance without the need to interfere with the content or structure of the website; the Theme constitutes digital content,
Plugin – an additional software component that can be installed in the Application to add new functions or extend existing capabilities; a Plugin usually consists of JavaScript files but may also include HTML, CSS, and configuration files; the Plugin constitutes digital content,
Entrepreneur with consumer rights (PNPK) – a natural person who enters into a contract with the Administrator that is directly related to the person's business activity, when the content of the Agreement shows that it is not of a professional nature for that person, resulting in particular from the subject of his business activity, made available on the basis of the provisions on the Central Register and Information on Economic Activity (CEIDG) in Poland,

Website - the website operating at: https://getpublii.com, https://getpublii.eu and subdomains of the indicated addresses,
User - a natural person with full legal capacity, a legal person, or a legal entity invoking their consumer rights, who are using the Website, including Consumer or Entrepreneur.

2. Preliminary provisions

Through the Website, the Administrator provides electronic services to the User, enabling the User to:
1. browse the publicly - available content of the Website free of charge,
2. download the Application and free Themes or Plugins free of charge,
3. purchase a premium Theme or Plugin, download the purchased Theme or Plugin, and use technical support relating tothe purchased Theme or Plugin,
4. subscribe to the newsletter free of charge,
5. send a message to the Administrator via the contact form free of charge.
Browsing the content of the Website is possible anonymously, i.e., without the need to provide personal data. Purchasing a Theme or Plugin, subscribing to the newsletter, and sending a message using the contact formrequiresproviding personal data necessary to achieve the given purpose.
It is prohibited for the User to provide unlawful contentto the Website or Administrator, especially by sending such content through the forms available on the Website.
Prices shown on the Website may be expressed in various currencies, depending on the User's location. If the User does not conduct activity as a business entity, the price provided on the Website may include Value-Added Tax. The final gross price is presented at the stage of placing an order.
In every case where the User is informed of a price reduction of a Theme or Plugin, the Administrator will display information about the reduced price, as well as information about the lowest price of the Theme or Plugin that applied during the 30 days prior to the reduction. If a given Theme or Plugin has been available for purchase for less than 30 days, the Administrator will display information about the reduced price, as well as information about the lowest price that applied to the Theme or Plugin from the date of release until the day the reduction was applied.
The Administrator makes every effort to ensure that data transmission over the Internet caused via use of the Website is safe, i.e., that the transmitted information is confidential, complete, and accurate. However, the Administrator is not responsible for unauthorized access to the transmitted data resulting from circumstances on the User's side, such as spyware installed on the User's device.
To ensure the User's security, the Administrator takes technical and organizational measures appropriate to the degree of threat to the security of the provided services, in particular, measures to prevent unauthorized persons from acquiring and modifying personal data.
The Administrator makes every effort to ensure that the Website operatesundisturbed and without interruption.
The Administrator is entitled to temporary breaks in the operation of the Website for technical reasons. If the User has a user account on the Website, the Administrator will notify the User about the planned technical outagevia email.
Temporary breaks in the operation of the Website may also be unplanned, particularly due to malfunctions and technical failures beyond the Administrator's control.
The Administrator takes actions to ensure that the Website functions properly, but cannot guarantee that the User will not encounter various technical problems while using the Website. The User should inform the Administrator about any irregularities or interruptions in the functioning of the Website.
The Administrator is not responsible for limitations or technical issues in the IT systems used by the User, which prevent or hinder the use of the Website.
The Administrator may at any time decide to suspend or terminate the operation of the Website. The Administrator may also decide at any time to change, withdraw, or add new functions to the Website. The termination of the Website's operation does not deprive the User of any rights resulting from contracts concluded via the Website, in particular, in terms of access to updates and technical support, and those services may be provided outside of the Website. The suspension or termination of the Website's operation also does not affect any licenses granted for the use of the Application, Themes, or Plugins.
The Administrator is entitled to enlistthe assistance of third parties in connection with the functioning of the Website, in particular, to ensure the proper functioning, development, and operation of the Website.

3. Technical Requirements

To use the Website, it is not necessary for the User's computer or other device to meet any special requirements. The following are sufficient:
1. Internet access,
2. a standard and up-to-date operating system (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X),
3. a standard and up-to-date web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox),
4. an active email address.
Use ofthe Application requires its installation on the User's computer with an operating system that meets the requirements described on the Website.
Themes and Plugins are compatible only with the Application. The Administrator does not ensure that Themes or Plugins function correctly with any software other than the Application.
To ensure the proper functioning of Themes and Plugins, it is necessary to regularly update the Application. The Administrator is not responsible for the incorrect functioning of Themes or Plugins if the User does not use the latest version of the Application.
Themes and Plugins are compatible with the latest, stable versions of browsers: Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, in their newest versions. The Administrator is not responsible for the malfunction of Themes and Plugins in outdated browser versions, or browsers other than those mentioned.

4. Application

Through the Website, the User can download a file allowing the installation of the Application on the User's computer.
The Administrator provides installation files for different operating systems, according to the list available on the Website.

5. Free Themes and Plugins

Through the Website, the User can download Themes or Plugins which the Administrator has decided to distribute free of charge.
The Administrator independently decides which Themes or Plugins are available for free download.

6. Purchasing a Theme or Plugin

Through the Website, the User can purchase Themes or Plugins, which the Administrator has decided to sell.
The Administrator independently decides which Themes or Plugins are available for purchase.
Purchasing a Theme or Plugin requires the filling in and submission ofan order form available on the Website, leading to the establishmentof a contract with the Administrator for the delivery of digital content in the form of a Theme or Plugin.
The price for a Theme or Plugin is payable in advance before the delivery of digital content via PayPal or Stripe.
If the User wants to receive an invoice, they must select the appropriate checkbox in the order form. In such cases, the invoice is delivered electronically. To access the invoice, the User must log into their account on the Website, then enter the "User Panel." The Administrator will inform the User about the issuing of an invoiceby sending a message to the email address assigned to the User's account.
If the User has an individual user account on the Website, they are required to log in to this account before placing an order. If the User does not have such an account, it is automatically created as a result of placing an order as necessary for the delivery of digital content. Instructions for logging into the account are sent to the email address provided by the User.
The Theme or Plugin is delivered to the User in the form of digital content immediately after payment,via the individual user account on the Website, to which the User logs in through the Website.
The User can download the Theme or Plugin and available updates for the Theme or Plugin for one year from the date of payment for the Theme or Plugin (access period). The User may extend the access period. Renewal is possible within 60 days of the end of the access period and is for one year. After the deadline for extending the access period, regaining access to download the Theme or Plugin or updates for the Theme or Plugin requires the User to repurchase the Theme or Plugin.
The Administrator may send reminder messages to the User's email addressnotifying them about the loss of access to the Theme or Plugin.
The User has access to technical support regarding the Theme or Plugin under the terms specified in §8 of the Terms and Conditions.

7. Updates

The Administrator may provide updates for the Application, Themes, or Plugins.
Updates may affect the functions of the Application, Themes, or Plugins.
The Administrator independently decides on the direction of development of the Application, Themes, or Plugins, including adding, modifying, or removing functions of the Application, Themes, or Plugins, while preserving the rights previously acquired by the User based on the contract established with the Administrator.
Updates for the Application are free of charge.
Updates for free Themes or Plugins that the User can download through the Website are available free of charge.
Updates for Themes or Plugins purchased by the User are payable. The price paid by the User for the purchase of a Theme or Plugin, or for extending the access period mentioned in §6, paragraph 8 of the Terms and Conditions, includes one year of access to updates for the Theme or Plugin counted from the day of payment.
Access to updates may be provided through the Website or via an alternative method, such as via email or file-sharing platforms.

8. Technical Support

Technical support is payable. The price paid by the User for purchasing a Theme or Plugin includes three months of access to technical support counted from the dateof payment. Extending the access period mentioned in §6, paragraph 8 of the Terms and Conditions, does not include an extension of access to technical support.
Technical support includes assistance in installing, configuring, and using the Theme or Plugin. The Administrator is not obligated to provide support in terms of handling themes or addons purchased from third parties.
Technical support consists solely of responding to User's questions sent electronically, using the Website's functions or email to the designated email address provided by the Administrator. In particular, the Administrator is not obligated to:
1. undertake any actions leading to changing the way the Theme or Plugin operates or looks,
2. ensure compatibility of the Theme or Plugin with software from third parties,
3. introduce changes to the graphic design and functionalities of the Theme or Plugin justified by individual needs of the User.
The Administrator responds to questions within 5 business days.
If the User needs technical support after the period mentioned in §8, paragraph 1 of the Terms and Conditions, or requires assistance from the Administrator beyond the scope of technical support, they may use individual services provided by the Administrator available at: https://getpublii.com/customization-service/, after agreeing on the conditions of service in advance, especially the financial obligations stipulated for the provision of these services.

9. Copyright

Copyright to the Application, Themes, and Plugins belongs to the Administrator, though the Application, Themes, and Plugins may contain elements licensed through third parties.All such elements are properly marked in the information accompanying the Application, Theme, or Plugin along with a reference to the license terms. The User is obligated to comply with the terms of these licenses. The Administrator is not responsible for any consequences caused by the User's violation of these license terms.
Use of the Application is under a license whose terms the User accepts during the Application's installation.
Use ofa Theme or Plugin is under a license whose terms are described below.
From the instant a download of a Theme or Plugin is initiated, the Administrator grants the User a non-exclusive license to use the Theme or Plugin in creating websites using the Application and publishing the websites created in this way on the Internet.
The license is granted for an indefinite period. The Administrator commits not to exercise the right to terminate the license except in cases where the User violates the terms of the granted license and infringes the Administrator's copyright property rights, and does not cease the violation despite the Administrator's request. In case of violating the license terms, the Administrator can terminate the license with a one-month notice period, effective at the end of the calendar month.
As part ofthe use of the Theme or Plugin, the User may make changes to it as justified by the needs of their website.
The User is entitled to grant further licenses (sub-licenses) to use the Theme or Plugin to their clients. The User may also use the purchased Themes or Plugins for commercial purposes on behalf of their clients. However, resale or making available for download any Themes or Plugins is prohibited.
The license is unlimited in terms of territory, meaning that the User may use the Theme or Plugin worldwide.
The Website's content contains works protected by copyright law. The User is entitled to use these works only within the scope of permitted personal use. Violating copyright to these works, especially by further distributing them without the Administrator's consent, may result in civil or criminal liability.

10. Withdrawal from the contract

A Consumer or Entrepreneur may withdraw from the contract concluded with the Administrator via the Website within 14 days of its establishment. A statement of withdrawal from the contract may be submitted in any form, in particular via email. The Consumer or Entrepreneur may use atemplate withdrawal form for this purpose.
To maintain the deadline for withdrawal from the contract, it is sufficient for the Consumer or Entrepreneur to send information regarding the exercisingof the Consumer's or Entrepreneur's right to withdraw from the contract before the withdrawal period expires.
The right to withdraw from the contract does not apply to contracts for the supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium for whichthe Consumer or Entrepreneur is obliged to pay a price, in cases wherethe Administrator has started the provision with the User's explicit and prior consent, and the User was informedbefore the start of the provision that after the completion of the provision by the Administrator, they will lose the right to withdraw from the contract, and the User accepted the terms, and the Administrator provided the User with confirmation as referred to in Article 21, paragraph 2 of the Consumer Rights Act.
In the event of withdrawal from the contract, the Administrator returns to the Consumer or Entrepreneur all payments received from the Consumer or Entrepreneur, immediately, and in any case no later than 14 days from the day on which the Administrator was informed about the decision to exercise the right to withdraw from the contract. The refund is made using the same payment methods that were used in the original transaction unless the Consumer or Entrepreneur has explicitly agreed to a different solution. In any case, the Consumer or Entrepreneur does not incur any fees in connection with this refund.
In the event of withdrawal from the contract, the User is obliged to stop using the digital content and making it available to third parties. The User also loses the possibility to download the digital content, access updates for the digital content, and the possibility to use technical support. Moreover, the license mentioned in §9 of the Terms and Conditions expires.

Through the Website, the User can subscribe to the newsletter.
The newsletter involves sending messages to the email address provided by the User, containing information about new products, promotions, products, or services related to the Application.
Receiving the newsletter incurs no charges.
The User may unsubscribe from receiving the newsletter at any time by clicking the designated link contained in the content of each message sent as part of the newsletter or by contacting the Administrator.
The Administrator independently decides on the frequency of the sending of the newsletter.
The Administrator may stop sending the newsletter at any time.

12. Contact Form

The User may use the contact form available on the Website to send a message to the Administrator.
Use ofthe contact form is free of charge.
The Administrator will respondto messages within 5 business days.

13. Administrator's Liability and Complaints

The Administrator is obligated to provide electronic services with due diligence and to deliver digital content in accordance with the contract.
The conformity of digital content with the contract is assessed according to the provisions of the Consumer Rights Act.
The Administrator is liable for the lack of conformity of provided digital contentwith the contract that existed at the time of its deliveryor manifested withintwo years from that moment.
If the digital content is not in conformity with the contract, the Consumer or Entrepreneur maydemand the bringing of the digital content into conformity with the contract.
If bringing the digital content into conformity with the contract is impossible or would require excessive costs for the Administrator, they may refuse to bring the digital content into conformity with the contract.
The Administrator brings the digital content into conformity with the contract within a reasonable time and without excessive inconvenience for the Consumer or Entrepreneur, taking into account its nature and the purpose for which it is used.
If the digital content is not in conformity with the contract, the Consumer or Entrepreneur may submit a statement on reducing the price or withdrawing from the contract if:
1. the Administrator refused to bring the digital content into conformity with the contract,
2. the Administrator did not bring the digital content into conformity with the contract,
3. the lack of conformity of the digital content with the contract persists despite the Administrator's attempt to bring the digital content into conformity with the contract,
4. the lack of conformity of the digital content with the contract is significant enough to justify reducing the price or withdrawing from the contract without first exercising the right to bring the digital content into conformity with the contract,
5. from the Administrator's statement or circumstances, it is clear that they will not bring the digital content into conformity with the contract within a reasonable time or without excessive inconvenience for the Consumer or Entrepreneur.
The Consumer or Entrepreneur cannot withdraw from the contract if the digital content is provided in exchange for payment of a price, and the lack of conformity of the digital content with the contract is insignificant. It is presumed incases where a complaint is made, that the lack of conformity of the digital content with the contract is significant.
The User may submit a complaint regarding issues related to the functioning of the Website or the performance of the contract. To facilitate the Consumer or Entrepreneur in exercising the rights related to the Administrator's liability for conformity of digital content with the contract, the Administrator has prepared a model complaint form that the Consumer or Entrepreneur may use.
Complaints maybe sent via email.
Complaints are processed on an ongoing basis, but will be processed no later than within 14 days from the day of receipt of the complaint.
The response to the complaint is sent in the same form in which the complaint was delivered to the Administrator.
The Consumer has the possibility of using out-of-court complaint handling and redress mechanisms. Among other things, the Consumer has the option to:
1. apply to a permanent consumer arbitration court with a request to resolve the dispute arising from the concluded contract,
2. apply to the regional Trade Inspection inspector with a request to initiate mediation proceedings regarding the amicable settlement of the dispute between the User and the Administrator,
3. use the assistance of a county (municipal) consumer ombudsman or a social organization whose statutory tasks include consumer protection.
For more detailed information on out-of-court complaint handling and redress mechanisms, the Consumer may visit the website of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK).
15. The Consumer may also use the EU's ODR platform, which serves to resolve disputes between consumers and entrepreneurs seeking an out-of-court settlement of a dispute regarding contractual obligations arising from an online sales contract or service contract.

14. Privacy

The Administrator of the User's personal data is the Administrator.
The Website uses cookies and other similar technologies.
Details regarding the processing of personal data and information collected using cookies or other similar technologies are described in the privacy policy available on the Website.

15. Final Provisions

The Administrator reserves the right to introduce and withdraw offers and promotions, and to change prices on the Website without prejudice to the rights acquired by the User, including, in particular, the terms of contracts establishedbefore the change.
The law applicable to contracts concluded through the Website is Polish law. This does not deprive the Consumer of the possibility to invoke rights arising from the law of the country in which they reside.
Any disputes related to contracts concluded through the Website shall be resolved by the Polish common court with jurisdiction over the Administrator's place of business. This provision does not apply to Consumers and Entrepreneurs, in whose case the choice of court results from the provisions of the law.
The Administrator reserves the right to introduce changes to these Terms and Conditions for important reasons such as changes in law, and technological or business changes.Contracts establishedbefore the amendment to the Terms and Conditions are governed by the Terms and Conditions in force on the date of the establishmentof the contract.
