RPG character

I'm not doing commission painting anymore (mostly), except for a few things here and there for friends.

This is the figure that one of my player's use as his D&D character. Its left arm had fallen off, so I took it in for repairs and while I was at it, gave it a few touch ups and highlights.

The last miniatures for Dave

These are the last models I had to paint for Dave, a little bit of a mix of stuff, but I'll make a single post with everything together.

First we have a selection of Silver Bayonet figures. I told Dave long ago that I would never paint Napoleonics, but I guess these don't really count, so I agreed to paint a couple of bands and few monsters for him.

He wanted these to be nice, so I went with full highlights on them.

Next up we have the Warlord Games special figure for their Hail Caesar Samurai new(ish) book.

And lastly, I painted a few Warhammer Man'o'War Dark Elf ships for him as a goodbye present.

A big project done

It's done, Max's Reaper Bones V kickstarter set is all painted. It took me an age and a half, but I'm finally done, even with most of the figures painted with dipping, it still took a long time, but it's great to have this big collection available for our D&D games.

If I had to give a suggestion to anyone who wanted to start getting miniatures for D&D or other fantasy RPG, definitely go for a Reaper Bones kickstarter, it might take a long time to get delivered, but for a very fair price you would end up with a ton of stuff to represent PCs, NPSc and all sort of monsters and small terrain pieces.

Over the couple of years it took me to paint them all, we used these figures so much, some of them were even used for Warhammer games. They are cheap, easy to paint and still great quality figures, if I didn't already have way too many figures still to paint I would definitely consider this kind of investment.

But on to the figures, as usual, I saved some good stuff for last, a whole bunch of undead, all very cool models, I did what I needed with dipping, but anything that was going to be mostly black was done with washes and drybrush.

More Bones D&D figures

I'm almost at the end of Max's giant Reaper Bones V kickstarter.

I started painting some of his figures that we needed for Warhammer games, then few for D&D, until I finally decided that I might as well paint the whole set of 150ish figures so that whenever we needed some for a game I would have them ready.

I went for a very simple and quick dipping method, that way I could have a high output and get them done without too much fuss.

This is the before last batch of figures for this project, the last one will be completed in a couple of weeks and it will be a more themed batch, you will see.
