Alexander and Macedonian companion cavalry

 Something different this week. As you can imagine, this project took some time to complete, it consists of 20 Macedonian companion cavalry led by non other that Alexander the Great.

Models are from Wargames Foundry, beautiful sculpts by the Mark Copplestone and others.

Ancient germans/Antichi germani

A little vignette style base I did for Dave, very simple and nice figures from Foundry.

Persian light cavalry/Cavalleria leggera persiana

 A quite large unit of Persian light cavalry I recently painted for Dave. These are Victrix models, quite large and, in my opinion, very overdetailed. 

I'm sure painting just one or two of them might be great, but having to paint a whole dozen has been a real chore, and I only just did washes, with almost no highlights, so, for just a very basic paint job, they feel like a fully highlighted unit in term of work.

I guess they are great as display models, but for wargamers, I would not be all that sure.

Un'unita' abbastanza grande di cavalleria leggera persiana che ho dipinto per Dave. Sono pezzi della Victrix, abbastanza grandi e, secondo me, troppo dettagliati.

Sono sicuro che dipingerne un paio sarebbe molto divertente, ma farne una dozzina e' stata una vera punizione, anche se ho fatto solo delle lavature e quasi nessuna lumeggiatura, una pittura molto basica, ma come lavoro, e' stato come dipingere un'unita' completa di lumeggiature complete.

Direi che come pezzi da esposizione siano una gioia da dipingere, ma come pezzi da gioco non sarei cosi' soicuro.

 A few Gauls I painted for my friend Dave, more might come in the future.

War of the roses mounted men at arms/Armigeri a cavallo della guerra delle due rose

This is a unit that my friend Garner started painting, he did the horses skins and the armours, I agreed to finish them for him in exchange for some custom made trees.

Questa e' un'unita' che il mio amico Garner ha cominciato, ha fatto i manti dei cavalli e le armature, io ho acconsentito a finirli in cambio di alcuni alberi autocostruiti.

Something different this week/Qualcosa di diverso questa settimana

This week I have a unit of ten English War of the Roses longbowmen I did for my friend Garner.
They don't belong to any faction, they are supposed to be a band of post war mercenaries, so there is no uniformity in their liveries.
They are Perry miniatures and, as anyone would expect, they are very nicely sculpted and a pleasure to paint.
They have no bases since Garner will base them to match the army they will be included in.


Questa settimana ho un'unita' di arcieri inglesi della Guera delle due Rose che ho dipinto per il mio amico Garner.
Non appartengono a nessuna fazione, rappresentano una banda di mercenari che dopo la guerra vendono i loro servizi al miglior offerente, quindi non hanno uniformi.
Sono modelli della Perry, quindi, come ci si aspetterebbe, sono molto ben proporzionati ed un piacere da dipingere.
Non hanno piedistalli visto che se ne occupera' Garner per farli in linea con il resto dell'esercito.

Vikings for WAB/ Vichinghi per WAB

This is a unit of Vikings I did for a guy at the games club, they are a bit dark, but still very nice/Questa è un'unità di Vichinghi che ho fatto per un ragazzo al club, sono venuti un po' scuri, ma comunque validi.
