Between 2015 and 2016,i spent an afternoon at Umeme Afrorave Studio at the kind invitation of the Italian (Dutch adopted) bass player and producer Daniele Labbate (aka Daniel Monaco)
When I arrived there, it turned out that the place was a former school turned into a studio. I would experience this kind of things more often later: a dutch kindness called anti-squat law means you can rent a place for very cheap, but can get dumped within a month notice… What would the world be like without squatters? But anyway...
When I arrived at the studio, Daniele had gathered many talented musicians and soon we began jamming together all afternoon.
Once back home, I came up with those heavy percussions-driven tunes…that stayed in the limbos of my hard drive until it resurfaced recently.
I tought it aged well, so I decided to share those three versions with the world under that name, Los Ojos.
We are watching you…
