Problem

When a user moves from a native Netdata package to a static build on OS distros, the data and configurations are not backed up automatically and requires user actions and hence error prone.

Description

Improve the Netdata reinstallation script to automatically backup and restore all the data and configurations.

Importance

must have

Value proposition

  1. Allows seamless transition from native to static packages
  2. Needed for service continuity on EoS distros
  3. Minimise manual actions from users
    ...
