Summary

Enterprise Accounts need billing controls to effectively manage spending across several different projects and business groups. This release adds support for more customizable budgets so Enterprise Accounts can set budgets for specific organizations and services (Actions & Packages).

Intended Outcome

Budgets allow customers to manage their spending so they feel more comfortable adopting and using GitHub metered services. Enterprise Admins and Billing Managers can set budgets for specific Organizations or services to align with their team's needs.

How will it work?

• GitHub Enterprise admins and billing managers can set a spending limit of any dollar amount for a specific organization
• The dollar amount limit can be applied to all services or to a specific service (e.g. Actions, Packages, Codespaces)
• Admins and billing managers will receive email notifications at the 75%, 90%, and 100% thresholds
• Once usage hits 100%, services for the specific organization and/or service will be disabled
• Enterprise admins and billing managers can adjust the limit at any time
