Starting with JOSM 19425 you can pull http://localhost:8111/export to get the active layer in JOSM.

In fact now you no longer need an additional plugin and button clicks in the JOSM interface.

But indoorequal.org currently requires a .osm suffix in the url. Is it possible to remove this requirement? This might also be useful if I want historical data from the Overpass API.
